No matter what your opinion may be surrounding his alleged use of steroids...

Congratulations to Barry Bonds the New Homerun King!

Steroids may increase muscle mass but no matter what type of steroids one may use, they can't give you the skill and timing to hit a homerun ball .

I'll agree that the growth hormones that he admits to taking and the steroids he took won't increase his speed or agility but they certainly gave him the extra power needed to send so many more over the wall.

If it were any other sport he would have been banned a few years ago. An * is too good for this cheater!

The commission either needs to toss this guy out of the game (along with the others who "juiced") or re-instate every player who has ever been banned regardless of their offense.

Totally agree Dan,

IMO Anyone caught cheating in any sport should get an immediate ban for life, and be stripped of any records/awards that they gained during their careers.

The only way to clean up sport is to make the punishments hard enough that the risk is just to great. 2 year bans and little fines just don't cut it.

As much as I hated to see what happened in the Tour de France this year, they are clearly moving the right direction - as bad as it is making the sport look at the moment.

It is a shame there is a controversy.

To me it is a spectacular accomplishment, even if he is a juicer.

At least the chase is over. It's been dominating the sports news for quite some time. Just in time for football season.

Anything accomplished by cheating is no accomplishment at all in my mind.

I find it incredibly sad that people want to praise and celebrate this.

I think it's sad - Barry is a great player but...

Anyone else notice that coincidence of those using steroids wearing #25? Jason Giambi, Mark McGuire,  Barry Bonds, etc.

Betting on your own sport is a conflict of interest. Suppose you bet on your own team to lose and you help the team out by throwing the game?

None, I don't watch football - nice stereotype though.

But if I discovered any sports person I supported was actually a cheat, I would immediately condemn then - exactly as I did Vino in the Tour de France this year.

I don't support cheats, and imo anyone who does is just as much to blame as those who do the cheating.

It is a disgrace to Major League Baseball that perhaps the greatest individual sports record ever recorded has been broken by a known cheater!!!

It can be argued that the steroids and human growth hormones, while they certainly didn't improve his speed, agility, and hand-eye coordination, extended this man's natural career in order to put him in the position to break Hank Aaron's record.

As a long time baseball fan I can tell you that I am completely disenchanted with Baseball due to this entire fiasco and I look forward to the day that Barry Bonds retires for good!!!
