Vote for your favorite movie decade. Personally I'm probably a 80's man.. Although most of my titles are from the 1990's..
The pole starts from the beginng of the 1900's, so if any of you prefer Silent B&W movies you can vote too

tough one for me between, the 70's and the 90's but I went ahead with the 90's since I figure the 70;s will get plenty of votes anyways.

This is really tough. I could have voted for several. I chose the '80s because that's when I became an adult and have great memories of the films and who I saw them with, college movie trips, milestones in my own life, etc.

However, I could have easily voted for the '40s through the '70s. I grew up watching those on TV and just marvel at what they look like now when I watch them on DVD. I love great black and white films, and eye popping Technicolor and gritty '70s flicks.

I think I just like movies.

THIS TOPIC CREATOR MUST BE SHOT!!!! ..... making such a hard question....

Movies only? Series will influence me greatly, I own 19 right now (not all complete though) and buying my 20th soon. Buffy will sway me but is also done in the 90's and 00's.

I'll edit this in a few hours when I'll take a look at my collection and done this work.
Kick me if I forget to edit this.

The Terminator, Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Empire Strikes Back, Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan, ET, Back to the Future I & II, The Last Starfighter, etc...These are the primary reasons that the 80s get my vote!!!  Hard to beat this line-up!!!

The choice would have been easier to make with 2 choice, but since I have to decide. I'm a fan of the "exploitation" and "drive-in" movies, because those movies were made out of the studio system and they were not politicly corect. So it's the seventies for me, but the sixties are not far.

I'm still thinking...

Godfather, Alien(s's), Holy grail, Shogun, Bambi, Top Gun, Court Yester are all those for the older decades....
But Lotr, Matrix, Spiderman, Sin City, X-men and Blackbook and others are all of later period.....

I'm gonna order Casablance, Gone with the Wind (already seen), How to kill a Mockingbird, Seven Samurai.
But also Hotel Rwanda (already seen) and Million Dollar Baby (already seen) and Last King of Scotland and some more so..... ARGHHHHHHHHH

The 80s for me. I was in my late teens, early twenties then. Spielberg was still in his Adventure period. You had the Brat Pack movies. Some great memories...

For me the 70s was the decade for going out to see movies in the theater.
The 80s was the decade for renting movies to watch at home on VCR.
The 90s was the decade for watching movies at home on satellite/cable-TV.
The 00s is the decade for watching movies on DVD (and now HD/BD) on my home cinema setup.

So how could I possibly pick a favorite decade among them?

But for the quality of the movies, I'll pick the 70s. Apocalypse Now, Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Taxi Driver, Alien, The Godfather, Jaws, and many more...
