| | Posted: | | | | Seems an odd name for a Bond movie, but okay. I've also heard that this movie picks up literally like an hour after the ending of Casino Royale. I hope that Eon can contain themselves and not immediately jump back into the implausible gadget superman movie mode. Every time we're told that Bond will be taken back to his roots, it lasts about one film and then they revert to adolescent fantasy. |

| | Posted: | | | | Ah midnit, you bring up one of my favorite topics. After Thunderball, and to some degree even with that film, the only relevance that Bond had to the books was the TITLES. Some of hi gdgets were fun, the majority were over the top. Bond is about his wit and his wits, more than gadgets.

Skip I'll give you one exception, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the one film that most closely adheres to the source material. Frankly, it's my favorite of all the films, Lazenby notwithstanding. I think the one you're thinking of is "The Spy Who Loved Me" which when Fleming sold the rights to all his books the contract specifically said they could only use the title but not the story. So it was the first Bond movie that was written completely from scratch. | | Posted: | | | | Lazenby was quite a shift from Connery, however had I known that Moore was next I would have lobbied hard to keep Lazenby on. Nothing wrong with Moore, per se, but the franchise turned into a cartoon shortly into his run...and it was a long run. |

Nice reference, but no. What Lazenby is referring to is Prince charming. An exquisite comparison. The damsel in distress never stole Charming's horse after he saved her.  |
