Hey all...
I recently got some bad news and not sure how much time I will be able to put towards profiler or the forum for that matter.

A few years back my mother survived lung cancer. I was so proud of her how she was so determined to beat it... and she went all out. Taking Chemo and Radiation at the same time. Well as I said... she did beat it. the tumor (which was the size of a tennis ball) had completely disappeared. But it took a toll on her. She has been pretty weak every since. The chemo and radiation really did a number on her.

Well we just recently found out that the cancer is back. My biggest fear about it being back is that she does not have the strength to fight it again. Starting this week we have to take her to tests and see just how bad it is this time. She went to her first test yesterday. We haven't even gotten the results yet and she has another appointment with another doctor today.

Needless to say... beyond the fact that I need to be with her for her appointments... I feel like I need to spend as much time as possible with her. I mean if it is only an amount of time before the unthinkable happens now... I don't want to look back with regrets that I wasn't there for her as much as humanly possible.

Of course that means taking time away from the net. I will try my best to pop in at least once a day.. which will be a huge difference here as I am here multiple times a day every single day. And I will be cutting down on my contributions and such. I will try to do a contribution here and there as I can though.

Anyway... I felt the need to let you all know that I definitely won't be around as much as usual. but that is only because of real life trauma getting in the way. And wanted to let you all know that I think even with all the drama about all this unimportant stuff... and let me tell you... when something like this hits... you can seriously see just how unimportant this stuff truly is... I think everyone here has the best intentions and the arguments and debates just shows how much everyone here just cares about making this the best database available. So I for one want to thank each and every one of you for working so hard. I may not have always agreed with some (if not all) of you at times... but please know that I did always know that both sides of every debate was trying to do what was best for profiler... out of passion for the hobby.

Once again... Thank You all for your hard work. I really appreciate every bit of it. And as I said I will still try to pop in when I can... and hopefully do a contribution here and there as much as possible as well.

Pete,

You do what you have to do, my friend.  Looks like your priorities are squarely in the right place.  We'll keep thinking good thoughts for you and try to keep the database up to date so all you have to do is download those profiles.  Tell your mom to keep fighting the good fight!
