President Bush is pleading with the Saudis' to increase production to help lower prices at the pump, like that's going to help  , and they pretty much told him to take a hike. Even if the Saudis agreed, we don't have the refineries to produce enough fuel to keep up with demand. Hell, we haven't built a new refinery in over 30 years! With the summer driving season knocking at the door and demand rising, I see prices, at least here in California, reaching $4.50 + per gallon by July. What's it going to take for our useless politicians to get off their dead asses and take action on behalf of their constituants? Open revolt??? Food prices are soaring! I work in the produce industry and I see freight companies tacking on 35% fuel surcharges to their invoices. What do you think we do with that 35%? It's passed on to the consumer. Many families are having to sell possessions just to make ends meet. The oil companies (robber barons) keep getting richer and the masses keep getting poorer  . Sorry for the rant. It's just that I had to fill up the tank on my Honda this morning and for the first time ever it was over $50.00!!!  | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Think yourself lucky...I walked past one of the local Petrol Stations (Gas Station for our US cousins) Unleaded was priced at
£1.12 ($2.19) a litre (approx $8.29 per US gal)
Diesel was
£1.25 ($2.44) a litre (approx $9.24 per US gal)
according to online conversion
1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.785 liter
and they are trying to increase this at the moment. Some area's of the country are even dearer.

| | Posted: | | | | Quit complaining!  Unleaded here in Norway is currently $2.60 per litre and the Diesel clocked in at $2.70 per litre. That should make it $9.80 per gallon for unleaded and $10.20 per gallon for diesel  Welcome to Norway - one of the richest countries in the world.... I wonder why  | | | Berak

But Hal is right, the only way to go is find ways to consume less of the stuff. Prices in the US may rise to world level, and not just for oil. | | | | Hans |

I recommend if you haven't seen the documentary " Who Killed the Electric Car?" you've gotta see this. It tries to investigate what happened to the GM EV-1 that came out in 1996 and why it was suddenly pulled from the market and why they were repossed from the buyers and destroyed. | | | We're on a mission from God.
