| | Posted: | | | | My collection is growing rather quickly since I discovered the used section at Newbury Comics, the local record and dvd store near my work. I find myself in there at least twice a week pulling out bargains at 2.99 to 5.99 each. The local blockbuster at my house I can pick up current releases a few months after they are released used. With my membership the price is 3 for 20.00. For all of you who have not discovered this second hand meca of digital delights... It is a great way to grow your collections. |

| | Posted: | | | | By far the prices I pay at Newbury Comics are the lowest. Almost all the titles I purchased in June came from there. I averaged under 5.00 per title. The discs are mint and guaranteed. They take them in from the local rental stores as well as purchase them from customers bringing them in. Quoting rorymatt: Quote:

But, here in Chicago we have tons of used music/movie stores - and some of them even let you haggle (evil grin). And sometimes something kind of rare comes in and the people who works there has no idea what it is, so they just throw it into the cheap discount bin... The really good thing is that they sell them in their original case with any inserts and including the slip cover. The bad thing is that they have stickers and with the snappers I can't remove the stickers at all, so I don't buy snappers from there. |

I bought the majority of my James Bond films (Special Edition) after they went out of print. We have a few used DVD places here in town and I scoured them to get the best copies possible. Needless to say buying used is like buying on Ebay, be careful scrutinize the people you are doing business with and most of the time you'll come out on top. |

| | Posted: | | | | I use a local chain called "Movie Trading Company". They always make sure the discs are clean and redable. The only problem is getting the insert is hit and miss. They even off .99 cent DVDs that have no cover, just in a simple see through case and the name on the case.
