Who do you currently plan on voting for?  If you're not a US Citizen or are a Citizen choosing not to vote, you can click the checkbox to "Skip this poll".

I'd vote for the "Three Stooges" at least then we could have a genuine laugh.

It's time that we all came together, Democrats and Republicans alike.

If you support the policies and character of John McCain, please drive
with your headlights on during the day.

If you support Obama, please drive with your headlights off at night.

Thank you and God Bless!

LOL Larry, Don't forget the day to vote for Democrats is Wednesday November 5.

ROFLMAO, Larry. I don't think somebody has a sense of humor, I must be guilty of supressing the vote.         How hysterical and insane can we get around here.

Skip,

Do all of the fradulent ACORN registered voters also vote on the 5th?

What about the dead voters -- so they vote on the 5th also -- what if that's not a full moon?

Sorry to go "off topic" on this most serious of issues....(BTW I would have voted for the Governator, if he had been standing.....He'll be back ), but the comment obout driving during the day with headlights on struck a chord.

On our recent three-week road trip around CA, AZ (oh, take me back to Lake Powell!!), UT & NV, we were intrigued by signs on a couple of stretches of highway which stated that we had to put our headlights on during the day....as in blazing sunlight and 100F+ heat, visibility to the horizon!  As I remember (and bear with me here, we saw so much amazing stuff that details tended to get a wee bit  blurred, despite the 2200 photographs I took with my new Canon 450D!), there was a stretch in the Navaho area of AZ and I think another bit in UT.

So is idaytime driving with headlights a general trend throughout the US or purely local?, And what's the thinking behind it; over here in the UK  we put our headlights on in low visibility & rain (similarly in continental Europe ), but not normally during daylight. I remember that the Swedish company Volvo had a policy (at one time) of always having the sidelights lit, but thought that this had died out.

I've certainly no axe to grind here, just interested in different ideas.

Thoughts, anyone?
Chris

From my understanding, heat radiation from the road can blur the outlines of cars making them harder to see (the mirage effect) and the headlights help counter that.

Ah, I hadn't thought of that.......we don't get that much heat over here!!!!   We could give you some rain though...

edit: yes, giving it some thought, I can see the sense in that.....certainly the roads with the signs were in the "hotter" bits of the south west!

Good call, thanks

I don't especially like either candidate.

However, I was going for McCain...until he chose Sarah Palin. Now? You couldn't pay me to vote for him. I think many of you can guess why that is so...

Hi Kat,

Are you saying that you are anti hunting, and that SP is, as I understand, of the "hunting" persuasion? or have I missed the point completely, in which case I would be grateful for enlightenment.

and on a lighter note  "Viva Emptiness"!

I'm not against hunting. I am against slaughterous aerial-hunting and her offering a price per "fresh paw". Shooting 20+ baby wolf cubs in the head isn't exactly what I would call "hunting". Sorry, but I cannot vote for someone like that.

Our Canadian built Cars come equipped with Daylight Running lights from the factory.. and most modern cras have a 'chip' to turn off the lights in case you forget after 5 minutes.,of the key turned off. The reason pf course behind it is to ensure safety at any time of day, so others can see you.
Now the cars in USA do not require DRL's and therefore are less safety conscience for road safety..
