| Posted: | | | | I'm in the process of doing an audit on this title and need advice. I own the Canadian release which, on the back, states: Recut & Extended Version Separated into four stories. Original Theatrical Release. Now...here's the thing....given that the title is 'Recut - Extended' and that the back of the box lists the recut version first - should the crew/cast reflect the extended cut or the theatrical release? Personally I'm leaning toward having dividers for each of the 4 segements with their own cast/crew - but I won't submit it if people think it's totally wrong to do so. All advice welcomed! |

Maybe with a divider that seperates the normal from the extended cast.
But that depends how much both credit scrolls really differ. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Ok I've just edited my copy (which I then lost due to an error in Profiler!!! ). However, here's what I discovered: The crew lists are practically identical until it gets to the Visual Effects crew; then you have different people working on the last two segements. It's the cast where the real difference lies - with totally different lists and people appearing in more than one segment. I'm going to re-edit mine tomorrow (can't be bothered to do it again today!!) and hopefully by then more people will have weighed in on this. | | | Last edited: by Pantheon |

| Posted: | | | | I would list them from the extended version simply on the basis that for run time we use which ever is the longer cut. |

| Posted: | | | | What I would do is:
Divider 1 - Recut- Extended - Unrated Divider 2-5 1 divider for each segment.
Divider 6 blank divider to create a space
Divider 7 Original Theatrical Release
Runtime would have to be that of the longest version as stated by Forget_the_rest | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I have always felt that the profile should match the release. In this case, the release is the 'Recut & Extended Version Separated into four stories'. I would enter the credits based on that version and NOT enter the credits from the other release that is included. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | To try and please everyone I have edited the title as follows in both cast and crew:
Recut - Extended Cast/Crew w/dividers for each segment.
Followed by Theatrical Version cast and crew.
I figure that by doing this everyone will get what they want and can delete what they don't.
The EAN is: 786936692143 for anyone who wants to copy the data to other profiles (assuming it's accepted, of course).
Hope this meets with everyone's approval. | | | Last edited: by Pantheon |

There are no FX dividers in the profile (which I know you have a problem with), simply the way the films are credited onscreen. |

I see no reason to treat a fellow contributor this way Agreed. On a side note, while it looks a mess in the preview window, once it is downloaded it looks fine. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I don't know what your problem is?! While I appreciate your effort to create extensive cast and crew listings, I don't like to see a mixup of two different cuts in one profile. I think it's better to create two separate profiles, one for each cut by using both Disc IDs. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

I think it's better to create two separate profiles, one for each cut by using both Disc IDs. While I agree with your point, about having the credits for both cuts in the same profile, I don't see why he would create two profiles. This isn't a 'Box Set'. It is a single release, similar to many other 'Director's Cuts' or 'Unrated Editions', that include the theatrical release. As I stated above, the profile should reflect the actual release and only have the cast list for the Recut-Extended version. Some people didn't agree and Pantheon tried to please both sides. While I don't agree, I can't fault him for that. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
