| Posted: | | | | Hey there, wondring what you guys think about this, as there is nothing in the rules about this, at least as far as I know So far I contributed everything as a booklet to "Other Features" which has at least 4 pages, one sheet flyers I ignored and did not submit. According to the votes most people seem to agree with this, I would say about 98 % Yes and 2 % No votes. The screeners accepted all of those contributions so far Would be nice to hear some opinions and would also be nice to have this put into the rules. cheers Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | The content is more important than the size. I was recently part of the 2% and voted No primarily because i felt there was no unique or special content contained in the "booklet".
I very rarely see a booklet worth mentioning as a feature. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

While I can see where you're coming from, I don't agree with you. Because the "worth" of anything differ from person to person, it'll be near impossible to create any kind of universal rule/guideline for this. The only way to make it somewhat standard is to go by page number. Even then we run into trouble with some people wanting to make advertising booklets a feature and others being against it. | Posted: | | | | I'd say four pages are enough to be mentioned as a booklet (even if some people would call that only a folded sheet) and I also note one sheet flyers, but only if they have information about the movie/dvd they are coming with. So I don't enter advertisement flyers or advertisement booklets. |

| Posted: | | | | I would also say the "value" of the content is in the "eye of the beholder". So we should go with page numbers. Of course, promotional flyers i would never add, i always throw em away cheers Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | I do think content should be in there somehow as well... as there has been many times I have seen good 6-8 page booklets (or something like that never counted pages) that are no more then catalogs for the studio's other titles. if we go strictly by page count we will would undoubtedly have people strictly going by page count and adding these as well.
so I Believe it should be something like...
Booklets 4 pages of more that has content about the movie/series of the DVD Release. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I would say anything which contains info (Production Notes, Bios, Production Stills, Poster Art, ...)about the movie is a booklet.
All promotional stuff is not. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

All promotional stuff is not. Agreed | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I agree it needs to be related to the movie and not be marketing materials. I'm not sure on the 4 pages or more part. I've seen a few two page or one page interviews in the past as inserts (usually with re-releases where the DVD itself has not changed). |

| Posted: | | | | I go by what the marketing uses, if the DVD cover says "Booklet" then that's what I add to the Other field. | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

These have more info than most things called "booklets", so I think they should qualify. I definitly agree with Addicted and the "Booklets 4 pages of more that has content about the movie/series of the DVD Release". Better yet, how about just an "insert" check-box like the slip-cover one? Then when buying used you'll know if you should've had something (again, ads dont' count, only related stuff would). I've wondered this many times coming home from Gamestop or FYE, and when everyone quit using inserts a couple years ago it made for even more questions. |

| Posted: | | | | The reason I put 4 pages or more is because that is where the poll is leading. Plus as long as I been here the chapter stop inserts that used to always come with DVDs were agreed on long time ago not to include... so it would be hard to make it an insert dealing with the movie/show and still not include the chapter stop inserts since it would qualify since it is about the release. | | | Pete |

While I agree with not including inserts w/ chapter listings for movies, should that exclude TV series as well. What if the TV Show insert has episode listings as well as episode data including original air date, guess stars and/or synopsis? |

| Posted: | | | | I personally don't ever add any booklets as (and I know I am at least mostly alone on this) I personally feel the stuff for the "Other Features" field should be the Other Features on the actual DVD... not the stuff added with the DVD. For example... I never myself included the Director Bio Cards that came with the first season episodes of Masters of Horror (though they did get added). Or the episode guide booklets with a lot of TV Series. But TV Series episode guide booklets... or for extremely short series... leaflets... would be different I would think. But that is better answered by the people that like the info in profiler anyway. | | | Pete |
