| Posted: | | | | I'm auditing Tremors right now, and the existing profile has deleted scenes checked but not outtakes. On the disc menu, it says outatkes, but I'm watching them and they are in fact deleted scenes, not outtakes as I think of them (people blowing lines, laughing, etc.)
What wins here? Outtakes because that's what they are called...? Deleted scenes because that's what they really are...? of check both since they're called one thing and are another?
There is no other section in the features with any other d.s. or outtakes. |

| Posted: | | | | By your description, I would go with deleted scenes.
It's not unlike when they do (or don't) list a commentary that is (or is not) there. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

| Posted: | | | | I'd enter what the feature actually is, rather than what it's called. So if they're deleted scenes, then I'd enter them as such. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Simple bigdaddy. If they are called outtakes then so they are. If they are not called deleted scenes why would you believe that they are. yes I know I can create arguments, but the point that remains standing is that they are called outtakes based upon your description and not deleted scenes.

| Posted: | | | | To be honest, I never look at the special features to determine what they are. I always use the menu option. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. | Posted: | | | | No matter what correct or incorrect label some some overworked DVD authoring guy might have slapped on it doesn't change what it actually is. Deleted scenes are still deleted scenes, and outtakes are still outtakes, no matter what they're called. The rules on features ( here) don't tell us to take them from the cover or the DVD menu, but instead describe various kinds of features, and subsequently tell us what boxes to check for them. So we're clearly tracking the actual content. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Tim: Not to mention that the Rules tell us to use the disc whenever possible. So if there is a discrepancy between the cover and the disc...the disc wins. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

There is no other section in the features with any other d.s. or outtakes. Yes in this case they are deleted scenes, and not bloopers/outtakes. |

| Posted: | | | | Not unless the menus call them outtakes, Rom Nope. Based on what daddy said they are outtakes. Don't interpret, follow the data.

| Posted: | | | | He's following the data that is the actual video information. If the menu showed French subtitles only but in actuality they were English, you'd enter English. This is no different IMHO. |

| Posted: | | | | Being an editor myself, here is how I define them:
Deleted Scenes - Scenes that were edited together from multiple camera angles of a given scene, but later removed from the final cut of the film.
Outtakes - Single camera shots of any scene that are not edited with other camera angles. | | | Chris |

If the MC made an error, than the rules here should allow for fixing them with documentation. |

| Posted: | | | | OMG, I know cmae, but we follow the menus, and like I said if the menus say outtakes, they are outtakes, if the menus say deleted scenes then thy are deleted scenes. NOTHING else is relevant.
According to bigdaddy they are called Outtakes...sobe it.
