A DVD that I got for Christmas was UFC 95 & 96 (UPC 013139510197). I've already submited & it's been released, but one the the extra features is downloadable "behind the scenes" footage. I was thiking about adding it to the features list under other, but it's not on the disc(s) itself. All you do is go to a website & enter a promo code.

Should I add it to the features? I'm leaning towards no since it's not on the disc itself. I just wanted to see what the rest of you thought.

If it is listed on the cover, I see no problem in adding it.

I would not add it, since you don't have access to it from the DVD disc and it's not gonna stay on the server forever. There are many of those exclusive for the DVD sites that no longer work.

This is a tough one for me... as part of me agrees with Chris and another part of me agrees with reybr. Afraid I am of no help on this one.

I lean more towards don't include it.
There was something similar for my Tropic Thunder dvd from Circuit City (R.I.P.) and no mention of it on the profile. Although in that case, it was just more of the same kind of extras that were on the dvd, but the dvd had the same UPC as versions without the exclusive bonus just no sticker/weblink. The weblink is now long dead and if I hadn't downloaded the extra content with realplayer I would never get to see it again, or if I had got the dvd a month later I would've been too late as well.

Now I just looked at the profile for the disc you're asking about, and with it being the only extras makes it trickier. I'd say include it if there is no experation date listed for the downloads. Sure they will expire sometime, but it could be a very long time. If there's only a short window to get them they shouldn't be included.

I am also leaning towards 'don't add' for the reasons already listed.

Tough one. Part of me says don't add for the reasons stated, but on the other hand slip covers aren't permanent, and those are added to the disc, so that makes me lean the other way.

My opinion is either way you're good.

I'd say list it in the Other Features text box, and tick off the DVD rom content box ..

That is IF there is an area in the menu for selecting and downloading for viewing on the Internet thru your PC to gain access to this material THRU the DVD ...

Other features, maybe.  DVD Rom content, not at all.  As the OP states, this is not available from the DVD.  You go to a website and enter a code.

I don't believe I would include it nor should it be, as stated above these downloadable sites are not permanent. Obviously, if you bought the title during release week, at that point in time it should be good, but if you bought it five years later out of the bargain box it likely would be gone. Unless you have some distributor willing to state that whatever they are making available will ALWAYS be available then i don't think it can be useful beyond the local Db, sadly. From a collecting viewpoint, I don't think some years down the road that it would be considered in any way for calculating "value" of a title since it is not a real feature of the disc and not likely avaiable.

If I am right about this the dvd has a web link site thru the menu  the web link is accessible thru an internet linked website,.. MOST if not all DVD players are not hooked up to the internet, ( maybe BD players ,, but this is not a BD disc), therefore you need a dvd rom player thru your PC to gain access to the web site ,.. Why would it NOT be dvd rom content??

Just as an addition after reading some of the replies, according to the insert with the DVD, the content will be available for download via the promo code till March 2010 (or possibly May 2010, I can't remember which).

Because, as the OP states, it is NOT on the DVD.  If it isn't on the DVD, it can't be DVD ROM Content.  From what I can tell, based on the latest post, the information is printed on an insert that is placed inside the case.

well yes if it is only the printed page only as text and not a hyper link on the DVD menu than No it would not be admissible.. Plus if the content is only available till march 2010  , there should not be any interest at all to this area ..

For discussion sake, how is this different from the slip covers? Those are definitely limited, and eventually go away as well.

Like I said, I can see both points, but if it's available upon original release, maybe it should be added.

This is definitely a tough one.
