| Posted: | | | | What is the criteria for declines of contributions?
If something I submitted gets 4 Yes and 2 No's and says "Declined", then why? |

| Posted: | | | | What did the 2 no votes say? I imagine that will give you an idea.
And what was the reason for decline? More times then not there is usually at least a generic reason for the decline.
We don't go by majority here... we go by whether or not the contribution follows the rules. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | As Addicted says it depends on the validity of the "No" votes. I've seen contributions with 20 "Yes" and 1 "No" and it's been declined because the 1 person spotted something that the others didn't. |

| Posted: | | | | Sometimes (rarely) submissions get declined for no reason at all. There are no "no" votes, the reason given is unrelated to the submission, and there might even be a few "yes" votes. Sometimes (even more rare) bad submissions are accepted, with valid "no" votes with obvious reasons why the submission ought to be rejected.
The screeners are human, and capable of making an error.
If the reasons given by the screeners and the "no" voters seem odd, you might try resubmission, but I highly doubt that it would be accepted. Valid reasons for any tiny aspect of the submission to be rejected will block acceptance of any otherwise good parts of a submission.
Read why there were "no" votes. Consider changing the submission to overcome those objections.
Submit good improvements to the database and they will be accepted and we will all rejoice. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Ah, so this is a cover scan contribution. If I remember correctly, according to Gerri, the screeners have to see a significant improvement in the new scans. If they don't, regardless of the vote, they will decline the contribution. Not saying that is the case here, but image quality is subjective, so it is possible that they agreed with the no voter. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | If it was for a cover scan then "better" is a subjective term. It seems that the Screener felt that the "No" votes were valid enough to decline.
Edit: I see TheMadMartian said the same but in more depth. | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

I also love people who simply say submitting better covers or some such and then i give as detailed a reason as I can with space i have as to why I might not think that the scans are better. | Posted: | | | | Yeah... cover scans make all the difference in the world. They are so subjective that there is no reason to be concerned about them. What I do is if it goes through great... if not... that is fine too... I just lock mine locally and move on (as I obviously like mine better if I try to change it). | | | Pete |
