| Posted: | | | | I got a couple of new BD's recently, downloaded the profiles and noticed that the disc IDs were missing, and I thought one also needed an Edition change. So I made the contributions. Long story short: both profiles had already been corrected and my contributions were somehow actually attempting to undo or redo stuff already done.
Could somebody give me some advice on how to avoid downloading a profile that is not up to date, and thereby erroneously thinking that it needs a contribution? | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Before you contribute, go to
Online --> Refresh profiles from Invelos -- preview changes
This will allow you to compare what is currently in the online to what you have.
Be careful, if you hit ok on the bottom of the screen, it will overwrite your (excluding locks) with the current online profile. Just hit cancel and no changes will be made..

| Posted: | | | | The only thing I can think of is that you got caught between the "approved" stage when you downloaded the profiles and the "released" stage when you tried to update. I always check the contribution notes before I start to work on a profile to see if it is pending an update.
As far a getting a profile that's not up-to-date, you can't. The current version of a profile is the only one available to download. That doesn't mean a profile will be complete or correct, but you always get the version that is released, even if a new, approved contribution is sitting there waiting for the daily update process, when ever that actually occurs. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | Could this have been caused by the updates being on hold? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, but hopefully not 140 scans for the same profile! (which is what jmbox was referring to, I believe)... |

| Posted: | | | | Ok, I did it again. Got accused of jumping before looking. But I did look, using the above suggested method. I withdrew the contribution, but I still don't see the pending updates. I guess I should just stck to my day job. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | There are two ways in DVDP, if you want to contribute: - Beeing really fast on new releases, with the hope no one will overwrite your data with less good data - Wait and correct/improve the data later |
