| | Posted: | | | | Universal released the Halloween II Blu-ray on 9/13/2011. However, they soon after issued a corrected/replacement disc in a free exchange program due to Moustapha Akkad's name not being in the opening credits. But... when Universal issued the "corrected" disc, they also upgraded the audio to DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. The original released disc had only "lossy" DTS 5.1 There's a contribution up that changes the audio to DTS-HD Master Audio (they state the replacement disc in their contribution notes), and I'm really unsure of just how to vote in this circumstance.  Does the original "lossy" audio of the original release trump Universal's later issued replacement disc? As far as I know the original audio on the release wasn't faulty, Universal simply chose to also upgrade it to "lossless" when they fixed the opening credits on the corrected disc. | | | | Corey |

In hindsight not sure if this was the appropriate action but if those who have the disc, it will have the correct info... |

Not everyone exchanged their discs, either by not knowing, or not caring quite enough to bother. I know the later is true, as I haven't swapped mine and probably won't. |

I wasn't even going to bother returning mine for the replacement of the single missing credit in the opening of the film. But when I heard of the audio upgrade, I went ahead and got the replacement. But I can easily see why some people wouldn't bother, since nothing on the original issued disc was technically defective. | | | | Corey |

No. If we were to go down that road we would have do define the exact difference between a "replacement" and "re-release". But by what? Time? Press-statements that might not be available in 1-2 years? We now have a very clear and strict rule, please let us not blur that line. If this is a legitimate re-issue, it should be contribute as profile id AC84-8320-7609-4EE3.
