| | Posted: | | | | How many profiles will be listed under colorized? Most DVDs that are colorized have the B&W with them, so the profile would be multiple. This will make it difficult to filter colorized films from the rest of the "multiple" profiles that don't deal with colorized but box sets that have both color/B&W films. |

| | Posted: | | | | No, I do not think that was the intention. See the rules, that include single colour tinting, like sepia, into B&W. On a side note, B&W should be understood to be 'monochrome'. For colourised, think of old TV shows from the 50's/60's originally in B&W but colourised because somebody thought it would sell better. Likewise movies from the 40's to 50's. Anyone remember the colourised version of 'The Longest Day'? Though I do not know whether that version has been published on DVD. If my memory serves me well, TV/film mogul Ted Turner thought this was a good idea. In hindsight, he might have been the only one on the planet...  | | | Eric

In hindsight, he might have been the only one on the planet... Ted was leading the charge and saying publicly that he hated black and white and wanted anything he watched to be in color, so he started the company that colorized old movies and TV shows, many of which were then broadcast on TBS or TNT to jeering fans all over, but Ted didn't care. He just wanted color.  I was with him until I saw the results.... seriously. I was a kid at the time and color movies were more exciting, more fresh, just more. So it sounded like a great idea, but the color never looked close to real and quickly I was die-hard "don't mess with it" movie fan. |
