Is there any way to download CLT results to a file or something so they can be analyzed easier?

Not that I have ever heard of.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.

goodguy had a plug in a couple years back that would snag all the CLT web pages related to a name and allow some offline processing.  Unfortunately his plugins are no longer available.

Well that sucks.

That is something that can be useful.  Using the CLT can get cumbersome paging through all the pages

He did?

It's sad that he abandoned his users. I feel sorry for people who gave him money.

Why?
In his licensing he already said that he could only guarantee to provide compatibility-updates for a limited time (at least one year after DoP). He fulfilled that, and even more.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

He can't really have "licensing," as he didn't sell anything. He asked for donations. Big difference.

Hey, if you're happy, all the more power to you. He could have left his plugins available to all, but he "packed up his toys and went home" so to speak, leaving all his donators hung out to dry. I still feel bad for them. Not user friendly, and not nice.

For some tools like Profile Comparison Plus he actually had a licensing program and as far as I know he always updated the plugin for his formerly paying customers to make it work with the newest DVDP version. He just did not allow new customers to purchase the product.

So please don't accuse him of something he didn't do.

Indeed.  He only stopped supporting PCP when v3.8 of the main program was announced and had an equivalent comparison capability embedded.  I never upgraded till he put out the patch to make it work with the latest version.

He supported it well.

FWIW here's the thread for the defunct CLT tool: Credit Lookup Plus

Not user friendly, and not nice. And, no one really "purchased" it, as he asked for donations, not payments.

What about the other tools? What if I am reinstalling everything? If you're just going to quit, fine, but at least let your users continue to use your stuff, and even consider releasing it as freeware for everyone's benefit. Don't just leave and take everything with you, especially after you asked for ***donations*** from the very users you are now abandoning. (Again I'm talking about the other plugins.) It's not nice, and not user friendly.

See... this is why you don't allow others to freely operate commercially on your forums (especially under the guise of "donations" and not "sales") without at least making clearly stated terms and rules, something that doesn't seem to be understood here, even by the site's owners.

As someone who donated money/paid for/whatevered the CLT+ Tool and the Profile Comparison plugin from Matthias, I can only offer unlimited thanks to him. What was it, 10 euros or something? Hardly the stuff to make a fuss about. His choice not to support DVDP anymore, is his and his alone. And I think we should respect that. It took a couple of years, but the profile comparison screen eventually made its way into the program. I only uninstalled Matthias' plugin a few days ago!

I still use the CLT+ tool, and I can only hope that a similar function will be offered on the Invelos website at some time. Until then, you won't hear me complain about Matthias leaving and taking his programs with him. If you want a program that does the same, how about writing a new one yourself? Now, I know that that sounds rather arrogant, coming from someone who owns CLT+, but it's not meant that way. Matthias isn't the only smart programmer out there. There are a lot more smart people in the DVDP community who can probably make a similar tool, or even a better one! Start cracking! Just don't expect me to make one...    I have no programming skills whatsoever...

Grendell,

I take issue with your comments regarding goodguy and his program. Those who purchased his product used his program for many years.

When he decided to no longer make the product available to new users he still provided updates to the program throughout those years and did so free of charge.

He can not be accused of not being user friendly to those who were not users of his program. Being "nice" has nothing to do with it. It was his time and energy that was invested in this project and he had every right to do exactly what he did.

No one has to provide a service to new users if they do not want to. But, despite not being obligated to, he offered continuing and ongoing support to his old ones.

Once his product was no longer available, the community realized exactly how great goodguy's program was and it became something people wanted and needed.

This led to the clamor for invelos to develop and implement something because people now understood that recognized that invelos was seriously lacking in this area.

Goodguy had an idea, implemented it and made the community realize that this program was something they wanted and invelos was not able to provide it.

It was goodguy and his ideas that laid the groundwork for what invelos now has implemented. I seriously doubt that this addition to DVDP this would have happened without goodguy's work.

If anything, Ken and community owe goodguy a debt of gratitude.

Kathy, this isn't about the Profiler Comparison Plus or whatever it was called. This is about the other tools and plugins he released for free but asked for a voluntary donation. Like the Name Variants Tool and the CLT plus.

The terms of use distributed with those other tools also said that you were free to redistribute the software. Goodguy have asked all to not do that anymore. If anyone does it regardless of his wishes, they are soon attacked here in the forum by other users.

Good news! I found a download link for Credit Lookup Plus!

http://www.geocities.ws/goodguy_dvdpro/CLTPlus/CLTPlus.zip

Virus Total shows it as clean.

Unzip and double click. I tried it and it still works.

No, as has already been mentioned, he charged for Profile Comparison Plus.  It was free to try, but after 30 days, you had to pay.  While it was a nice tool, it wasn't worth the price of admission.  JMHO

As for the rest, well, I have my own opinions as to how much of a good guy 'goodguy' was, but there really isn't any point in going into it here.

I have to disagree with you here.  His program was nice, it wasn't something I was willing to pay for.  While some people may have wanted and needed it, I did not.

Again, I have to disagree.  While there were requests that the functionality be added, I don't believe there was a clamor...mainly because those people that "realized exactly how great goodguy's program was," were the same people that still had it and were able to use it.

I am sorry, but no.  Goodguy had an idea, implemented it, and got payed by the people that used it.  I won't presume to speak for the rest of the community, but I owe him nothing.
