While here at the library today...  I decided to check out some DVDs to watch. Yeah I know... why do I bother?

This first trip I grabbed...

- What to Expect When You are Expecting
- The A-Team (movie)
- Diagnosis Murder: Season 1 Discs 1-4

These were all I was curious about seeing... figured check it out this way instead of putting money out.

You are aware that libraries usually expect those back within a (for them!) reasonable time, are you?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I watch dozens, if not hundreds, of films from the library each year. It's how I see most new stuff. The only bummer is I used to get blu-rays very quick, but now more and more other members have BD players so the waits are getting longer. Still can't complain about free rents!

yeah.. I realized it. But there is always renewing them as well.... I believe they said that you can renew it 3 times.... so that would be up to a month (1 week each) if I really needed it. But here two days later and I was already able to return 3 of the 5!

I'm surprised that with all the movies you have, you still manage to find some at the library that you haven't seen

Are you afraid to go into your unwatched pile? It seems like you have a perfect opportunity right now, but instead you are procrastinating and getting DVD from the library now and watching old ones.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

We can renew unlimited times here, but only if no one else is on the waiting list. Works great for old catalog titles, esp. if you can just grab them off the rack inside. But new stuff you have to get on an online waiting list for.
Example, tomorrow I'll get 'Twilight the thankful end' (it's on hold fo me now, they hold for 6 days but that hold time doesn't count toward the week you get to have it once checked out), and have one week to watch it, or else I have to return it and go to the back of the list. I could grab something like Batman Begins and keep renewing it until someone else requests it, and even then I could keep it if that request gets filled with another copy before my return date.
I think my record is 20 renews, and I never even got around to watching whatever that was. I could've kept renewing but gave up.

Oh but I work on those as well. I watch some that I have already seen, then some from my unwatched  pile and some from the library and some from Netflix. This way I can always watch something... no matter what it is I am in the mood for. Whether it is in my collection or not.

As I said they don't do it that way here. You have to turn it in after  times renewing. But that is OK... I just figure I will give it another go at another time.
