I have a store exclusive, but I threw out the shrink wrap that had the UPC code on it long ago.

The case has the same UPC as the standard release. The store exclusive is already in the main database.

How to do the back cover? Scan the slip only without the case or scan both but with the UPC not showing completely?

I would scan it with UPC and then photoshop the UPC out, basically turning it into a white square and explain in my notes why.

This sounds like the best option to do the most with what you have.
Or you could look online to see if you can find a decent scan with the missing UPC sticker (assuming a sticker if on the shrinkwrap) and photoshop that part onto your scan of the back cover. Every once in while I'll find scans online good enough to contribute here.

I tried to find a back cover, to no avail.

All I could find is the front and scans of the stores ad or the exclusive itself.

I don't have photoshop, all I have is Irfan View.

If you don't have the proper cover then don't submit the cover.  Simple.

Thanks, but it's not on either of those.

He has the proper cover. The UPC was a sticker on the shrink wrap.

Thank you, but if he had the "proper" cover this thread would not exist.

Are you kidding? Stores here do this all the time and put a sticker with a different UPC on the shrink wrap. His cover is the proper cover. It's possibly that there is no cover produced that carries this UPC, only the ones with the UPC on the shrink wrap. Do you leave the shrink wrap on your DVDs/Blu-rays?

When necessary, I leave the shrinkwrap on long enough to scan the cover.  It only takes a couple minutes.

I would never scan a cover with the shrink wrap still on it.

Why?  You can always scan it again without the shrink wrap if you prefer.

And if you're really ambitious you can create a composite image that will look good and correct.

I agree. I would cut out the UPC from the shrink wrap and temporarily attach it to the cover and scan it. I would mention in my notes that the UPC code was a sticker on the shrink wrap.

That's what I did with the recent "This is the End" Best Buy exclusive.

What title is it and where did you buy it? Maybe someone here still has it.

If worse comes to worse, one could possibly use a barcode generator and Photoshop it in, but that may violate some DVD Profiler cover image ethics if there are such things.
