A combined credit "Hair & Makeup" can go into Make-up artist. The rest can only be entered as Custom.

I'm not a sound guy but I would probably have contributed Sound Effects Editor as Sound Editor. Unless there already are other Sound Editors credited. But I'm not sure if it's correct.

It isn't. Those two jobs are quite different.

Well, they can be. But I can assure you that sometimes the people that we are after are (mistakenly) credited as such. But I agree that, even in such cases, we have to leave them out. "Sound Effects Editor" is simply not in the crew chart, and that's that as far as the online database is concerned.

Just saw a bunch of Sound Effects Editors in The Bridges of Madison County. Didn't add them.

So what exactly are they? They edit sound effects yet they are not sound editors?

Sound editors are the people that work with the director and sound designer, in post production sound, to bring all the sound together, for final mixing.

Sound editors get assistance and sound tracks from

Music Editors
Dialogue Editors
Sound Effects Editors
    Subset Foley editors

So it's an assistant basically. Why don't they say so?

This.

This, indeed.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

You ask this after 2000+ accepted contributions?

I made this mistake on a few profiles myself in the past. Until I got a better look at the chart. I think the way the chart is formatted (size of cells) is where my confusion at first came....

When quickly reading this it is easy to mistaken it being a Hairstylist credit alone when the actual credit reads as Key Make-up Artist & Hairstylist.

Yes, it's easy to make mistakes when one is in a hurry.
