I am sitting here steaming mad! I just had my first bad experience with an Amazon Marketplace seller. I never used this seller before... but they have sold a lot and had a good rating. Plus the item was listed as like new condition.

Well I ordered Gulliver's Travels (BR/DVD/Digital Copy) combo pack. And today it showed up in the mail. Opened the envelope and the case looked in like new condition. Opened the case... first I see the DVD. Looked great... agree with like new. Then I see the digital copy disc. Looked great... agree with like new. And well... that was it... the Blu-ray disc was completely missing!!! Was no where in the case. And I even double checked the case. You can see the hub where the Blu-ray was supposed to be... but no disc!

It could be a genuine oversight, especially if they have lots of good feedback.

Have you contacted them to see what they say? If they are one of the good ones then they'll refund or replace no quibble.

Yes... sent them an email right away. Waiting for a reply. Just the whole situation is aggravating.

I've recently had this with the biggest electronics chain in Germany. Bought the Blu-ray of Brave, got home, opened the originally sealed and untouched case - no disc.

I guess it was a packaging error directly at the factory.

Yeah I am sure yours was in your case. Sucks but sure you got it straight?

In my case it was a used copy.

I've had just about every problem you can image over the 15 years I've been collecting DVDs.
But when a disc is missing it really frosts my ... You can't look at a disc and tell it is bad.

It seems more of the DVD I want are only listed from Amazon's sellers. And at times I have second thoughts, do I really want it. It isn't a life or death decision.

With Amazon I've never had any problems returning a problem with an order. Usually I get the replacement before I can return the faulty disc.

It's a pain I know, but if I really want a particular DVD and it is distributed by questionable distributor, I'll buy it from Amazon rather from a retailer that has a bad reputation on returning disks even if it might cost a couple of dollars more.

I always explain the problem and players I tried the disc on.
If the disc is bad, I might test the disc using the VSO Inspector and cite the bad addresses.

Well, most of the sellers in local stores look pretty pissed, but I ALWAYS check the discs right after the buy in the shop. I never had an empty case, but quite a few times some pretty scratched discs or discs that had finger- or palmprints all over. In this cases I instist on an exchange, or if that was the only copy, a refund.

And I hate to buy used items. Most of my discs, even the ones from 2001 look better than most of the used discs I had to buy, because it was the only way to get the movies.

Very strange... I still haven't heard a thing from the seller. But I just got an email from Amazon that I was refunded the amount for this order. With a refund reason of Item not satisfactory.

The email don't say one way or the other... and as I said still haven't heard from the seller. So I don't know if I am supposed to send him back the DVD disc or what.

I concur, if they didn't mail you and just refunded the cost they are walking away and hoping you don't leave them bad feedback.  Horrible customer service, in my opinion, but at least you are not out any money.

I have had a few problems with Amazon but they always have responded and resloved the problem in a timely manor.
Example: I had preordered The Limited Edition 3rd season Walking Dead. Release was on Tuesday as of Thuresday it had not shipped yet. When I contacted them they emailed back apologizing and refunded my Standard shipping cost and sent it out for next day delivery at no cost to me.

Yeah... I am thinking they just took the loss myself. As of this morning still no email from the seller. Not worried of course since it was taken care of... but would have been nice if the seller replied to my email.

I have not used any of the list of sellers only Amazon.com or Fulfillment by Amazon.

Amazon for me is the best place to purchase. They have excellent customer service. Even when you have issues with a trader, and you are unable to resolve the issue with the trader, you can still file a claim at Amazon.

I once ordered a CD from a US trader. It did not get delivered, but according to the trader's policy, I still had to wait a week before filing a complaint. I noticed the trader started getting extremely bad feedback. 3 days before expiration, I got an email from Amazon. They noticed I had purchased from the seller, and they had cancelled his account. If I had not received my item, I should just open an Amazon claim, which I did. 2 days later, the money including shipping cost was refunded. So I purchase most of my items on their site. I use Amazon as much as possible, due to quicker delivery, but I often use traders, either for older CD's or older R1 DVD's.

I can honestly say I have been very lucky with Amazon, never having an issue with them directly.  However, their delivery service through OnTrack has be disastrous.

I have had no problem with OnTrack, Sometime I've had the product before the email saying it has shipped.

I did have problems with Smartpost

I am a prime member of Amazon, so I get orders shipped as they become available, and if I buy DVD it has to be backed by Amazon. Amazon has four shipping centers here, I think. Just the Friday 3th, afternoon I ordered a DVD and got it before noon on the 4th, less than 12 hours.

I had a set of DVDs form Visual Entertainment stuck in US Customs, emailed them and it was cleared the next day. A US Customs, a government agency you just know by definition they could not do any wrong.

I always check the tracking reference, during the Christmas madness, we had a lot crooks following the UPS/FEDX trucks and stealing packages lefted at the front door.
