She is the only singer to appear in the opening credits of a Bond film and is credited as performing the theme song, so should she be in the cast credits. If so, should she be credited or uncredited?

More than likely, her appearance was lip-synced, so she wasn't actually "performing" during the credit sequence.  If I were going to include her in the cast, I'd list her as uncredited.

That's what I was thinking, with either no role or as 'Herself'.

Every name, that is listed anywhere, should be in cast. Ask the Germans, they have special knowledge about film credits.

So if she is listed, she should be in the cast credits, as credited:

Sheena Easton - [Role played:] Theme Song Performer

(with Role, because more than likely her appearance was lip-synced, so she wasn't actually "performing")

+1

and since the song credit is at the beginning of the film, she would be 1st in the cast list. Above Roger Moore.

She isn't listed with the cast that the end of the film, but with the crew (songwriter, composer etc.) at the beginning during the song and performance.

Would the best thing to do to add a group divider and put her at the end of the cast?

Please understand that it doesn't matter anymore where Sheena Easton is listed: we are now allowed to add people to the cast that are not even in the film.

Good idea. Either an invented one person group divider at the end, or first in the cast list above Roger Moore...

Anyway, the performer of the theme song should definitely be in the film cast.

No.  If she is not credited, but is on screen as an actor, you can add her as uncredited.

here is the opening song with the credit at 1:57

She is credited as Song Performer, so if she's going to get a credit for performing the song on screen, then it should be 1st in the cast list.

IMO this is ridiculous.

I brought something like this up as a goof awhile back,  adding the crew that was on-screen during the end credits in Jackie Chan films, when they play the out-takes & gags during the end credit crawl. As uncredited of course.

The actual credit is " Title Song Performed By Sheena Easton."  In my opinion, that is a crew credit that I have seen many times before.

This is no different than any other crew member that has a cameo.  I would enter her as 'Sheena Easton as Herself (Uncredited).

That's what I have at that moment, but haven't contributed yet because I haven't yet scanned the covers (it's for the James Bond collection, EAN 5039036074391 which, at the moment, has no child profiles).

Since when does "performed by" get a credit? I thought only the song writers get credit for song writing. I can see performed by as a local custom, but not contributable.

I'd say she gets cast as herself uncredited, and that's it. She didn't write the song, can't get writing credit.

It's because she, uniquely, appears in the opening credits singing the theme song. No other artist had done it before, and no one has done since.
