Can someone please translate this gobbledygook?

"You never have to data (sic: date)" (referring to "bringing anything to the Program").....

It's taken me years to be able to read Skipese....It's kinda scary that I can actually do it most of the time now.

Thanks for the translation, his posts give me a headache, they're so ridiculously written.

Since when did Congress become "the majority"?

535 people out of 300 million is hardly a majority.  We have a representative democracy, which means once they're elected, they can espouse whatever they wish...not necessarily the wishes of the majority, as evidenced by the recent passage of legislation that the "majority" of the citizens does not support.

If you don't like what those 535 are doing, vote them out!

Going a bit off topic here but what Hal probably tried to say was that the voting system as it exists in America doesn't ensure that congress represents the majority of the American people.

From what I remember from my political history classes at university, when the US was founded, certain states were granted a bigger 'weight' in the voting system by introducing the idea of voting men. The idea was to give states that were mostly populated by common folk less voting power and give states where the so-called elite lived more voting power. To this very day, this dated and unfair system is still in effect because it's part of the constitution, which nobody in the US dares to ammend.

In short, when elections are held in the US, it could very well be that when adding up all the individual votes, the majority choses option 'A', but by using the system of voting men, if most people in the states with more voting power go with option 'B', the result could be 'B', which is not representative of the opinion of the majority of Americans. That's why to this day, in the US, a president can get elected even though he got the least number of votes.

I could also go into things like pressure groups and lobby groups applying their influence so congress men would vote in their favor instead of voting in representation of the people that elected them, but that's another can of worms.

Suffice it to say that the things that get voted in the US congress aren't necessarily the opinion of the US citizens.

No Mr Ignorant.

Try to think for a moment in a country that has a 14 trillion dollar economy almost as large as the whole of Europe combined.

That you would believe some how this would affect your pocket if some form of government run health care was introduced.

FilmAlba - I have refrained from commenting on your postings but I have decided I want you to know how I feel.

I am very tired of reading your continuously negative comments. The generalizations you make about people and places I find to be rude, hurtful, and, most importantly, unnecessary.

I am not going to go into some type of social, political or racial debate with you or anyone else. Personally I feel these forums are not the place for such discussions.

There must be some other forum you could join that would be more suited for the types of comments you make. Please find one and post these mean and inappropriate comments there.

My apologies to everyone else for subjecting you to yet another negative posting.

Yeah, but unlike Skip, he offers nothing to the database or the community.

I think we can all completely agree that his existence on this forum should be like all other forums he's joined, banned and unavailable.

I think, and I could be wrong, he was refering to how the majority in Congress treats the minority in Congress.
