...before your contribution was accepted, you knew that documentation was in this thread that proved the data to be accurate.

I don't think that's quite fair.  The documentation provided in this thread does not exactly match the data in the profile (at least the US locality.)  And there is at least one name among the uncredited "featured players" in our documentation that is in fact credited in the film, so its 'correctness' can be somewhat called into question.

---------------

1 or 2 errors in a list of 1,200 names doesn't justify the removal of the 1,200 names when there is evidence supporting the near totality of the list.

I don't dispute that the list needs a good going over to make sure what's documented once and for all and where we might have question marks.

If you are going to redo Canadian Locality for this 1200+ name list you should and must do the the other localitys that are the same as Canada

Since you are the user who is responsible for all this mess, I think you will easilly understand that I don't really care for your oppinion

Even more after I've taken 6 hours this evening to do the uncredited cast exactly as it appear in the original program by typing all the name manually. I've not contrary to you just pasted the old imdb cast and writen in my note that it was taken from the program.

I've no idea what was your point with this selfish and childish move, but personally tonight I'm totally pissed off and I prefer to not write everything I had in my mind because I'm not really interested by a temporary ban.

Of course my precedent apologies aren't valid anymore

and for that matter AESP didn't  even vote on the issue..

Of course I haven't, I don't own the disc and it isn't in my collection like I've said already more than one time in this thread...

There are flaws and there are multiple accolades for this system.. I was only bringing it to light for you see ..

So I'm supposed to sing the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song and feel all warm in my heart because I've worked more than 6 hours tonight because you need to make a point. Maybe if you would had done the correction in the cast using the document submit here in place of playing the selfish child my oppinion would be different. But since you haven't my oppinion rest the same... Your contribution right must be suspended since you have volontary mess the database by your action.

You want to make a point do it with the person concerned and not the entire community

And you should pull your contribution! You flat out lied in your notes (very un-cool and could get your contribution privileges suspended)    You say you copied the cast from the program but a quick check shows you obviously didn't. C'mon Terry - you're better than this.

And a huge to you Jimmy for doing the work!

For all those who said he should've pulled the original contribution, maybe he should have (if he was aware of this thread), but he was under no obligation at all. There is a process in place for Contributions and it was followed. People are only obliged to contribute within the Rules, not any forum. Plus, if anyone who had that release had wanted to they could've voted "No" giving this thread as a reason.

I didn't have to copy and paste anything.. all  you do is change the locality form Canadian back to USA and do a refresh  and then change the locality back to canada .. It's that simple  and not a  lot of typing etc .. Are you going for a sympathy vote here?..

Whatever you have it does not match what is shown in the program.

If you just changed the locality of the USA profile you should have said that in your contribution notes. You said you matched the program... you most certainly didn't.

I see you updated the notes to include copying the USA profile but still say you used the program as a source.

Why don't you just pull it? It is wrong! Have you actually compared what you submitted to what you say you're source is (the program)? If you had you will see it's not even close.

The system depends on the veracity of the contribution notes. You claimed in your notes that the data was an IMDb clone, which is the trigger phrase needed to remove this kind of data. However, before your contribution was accepted, you knew that documentation was in this thread that proved the data to be accurate. You didn't pull your removal though. You let it run it's course. That's where the objection is. We have no information to suggest that screeners read forum threads. If they don't, they had no idea that your contribution notes were in error. It doesn't seem fair to blame them for that. Nor does it seem right to test for weaknesses in the system by removing data you know to be accurate. We all know that cast and crew data varies across different profiles in the database. That's inherent to the design of the system and we don't need it "brought to light" through dramatic data removals.

I didn't write that the data was an IMDB clone but I wrote " cast appears to be imdb clone ' .. big difference and  since when  do we have to defend if we believe the cast was IMDB  we have been doing that for ages here on the boards ..  This appears to me the first time that everyone is upset about a possible IMDB clone to be removed ..  I'm still getting reports back to me that not everyone is upset..  Maybe we should scrutinize all IMDB clones as possible wanna bees ..

Do you really think I would systematically  line by line remove the uncredited s ?  Did no such thing .
The Canadian locality cast was really to acquire  it was already in the data base already ..

Why don't you just admit that your stunt was childish and stupid? Why you haven't try the same stunt with the US locality to prove your point? Are you happy to have mess volontary the database? Are you happy when you send a big F-you to all the users who had worked to document the uncredited cast data for this profile?

Terry you were wrong to do this, nothing more nothing less. You continue to act like a child by not removing your current incorrect contribution that violate the contribution rules (even more when you lied in your note). My profile is currently in the voting process and contrary to you I've checked every name in the program and wrote them one by one in the uncredited cast. If everyone lost a perfectly documented and conform uncredited cast I'm sure they will be happy and thanks you...

My nephews are 6 years old and they are able to admit when they have acted wrong... Maybe they are more grown up that you are...

You are the one who had acted like a selfish child to prove an idiotic point. Am I suppose to wrote "A mysterious user that I won't name as volontary trash the database and send a big F-you to the community members who had make a big effort to find the documentation to prove once and for all the veracity of the uncredited cast for the profile of Around the World in Eighties days"?

Calling the moderator on this is just another prove of how childish you are. If my post is deleted I will just repost it and if I'm ban for this I don't care at all...

Your act was selfish and detrimental to the database. Enough so that your contribution right need to be suspended....

Sure I'm personal, you are the one who had done it... Not me, not Skip, not Surfeur, not Antares, not any other user
