Did you follow any of the links? VG is indeed a proper print newspaper in Norway. I know, I've read it myself. And there's a photo of the woman and her husband holding the letter they got from Obama.

So while it's common sense to not accept everything one sees on the net as the truth, I see no reason to doubt the veracity of this story.

I guess it's just my nature.

I take very little at face value.  That includes newspapers, many of which have a specific political agenda, nor photographs which in today's world of computers can appear to be anything that the author wishes.

Trust is something that must be earned with me.  I have no reason to trust any of the sources cited.

Oh right, so you won't trust the story about Miami Airport but you'll accept this one at face value?

There's less reason to doubt the story about taking homeless people to vote because it's a fairly well known practice on Election Day in the USA -- i.e., bussing groups of people from homeless shelters, nursing homes, etc., to polling places to vote.  The New York Post story is merely the latest report of similar shenanigans from prior elections.  The "Good Samaritan" story about Obama helping the woman in the Miami airport, while certainly plausible, isn't as common and has an Urban Legend air about it.

Including dead people voting, people voting multiple times and so forth, There is no want for illegal behavior within the US voting system. What i found amusing was when there began to be discussions rellated to requiring a photo ID, ot come the people who make the biggest use of such things saying , oh no, we can't do that it is a brrden on  the poor, the elderly and other societal segments where this behavior is easiest to accomplish, they can't afford it, they can't get there, etc, etc, etc.

It is easier to take at face value because it happens every four years.  Many, groups will round up the elderly, homeless, etc. and drive them to the polling place in order to get that extra vote for their candidate.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

I am currently intrigued and doin some investigation on the current claims relative to the Obama campaign accepting illegal donations from foreign nationals, I have heard that this coul;d be as much as $34 Million dollars. I have to hurry because time is short, and after the election we will hear the same sop we heard from the Clinton people, oh we're sorry about that we couldn't keep up with everything, we've returned the money...TOO LATE.

This election is no different than any other election in our nation's long and somewhat embarassing history of elections.  Its the same claims, counter-claims, charges, counter-charges, outright lies, mistruths, distractions, and morally questionable practices from both sides that has always been present in the selection of the american president.  Modern practices are tame in comparison to the first 100 years of presidential politics. I have to laugh when people respond with shock and outrage when they hear of anything that has happened over the course of a 4 year election season...

Democracy is messy, especially in America.  Get used to it, get over it, and get on with it.  Go vote!

Why in the world does Obama hire these type people?? It makes so many people look at him with such suspicion and concern about what he is really going to do if elected!

Subject: 3 Men Who Brought down Wall Street...
Here is a quick look into 3 former Fannie Mae executives who have brought down Wall Street.
Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae.  Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae  when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. At the time of his departure The Wall Street Journal noted, "  Raines, who long defended the company's accounting despite mounting evidence that it wasn't proper, issued a statement late Tuesday conceding that "mistakes were made" and saying he would assume responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the company was und er growing pressure from regulators to shake up its management in the wake of findings that the company's books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years."  Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion.
Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear. C2. The Government noted, "The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly neglecting accou nting systems and internal controls, misapplying over twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the public. The Notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner."  These charges were made in 2006.  The Court ordered Raines to return $50 Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the miss-stated Fannie Mae profits .

Tim Howard -  Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. In everyday English - he was cooking the books..  The Government Investigation determined that, "Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting f unctions within Fannie Mae,"
On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., asked the Justice Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied manipulating the mortgage-finance giant's income statement to achieve management pay bonuses. Investigations by federal regulators and the company' s board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson -  A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO.  A look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you'll see some interesting things about John son. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million." Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae. Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor
TIM HOWARD?  Howard is also a Chief Economic Adviser to Obama
JIM JOHNSON?  Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS - HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE - THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE.  Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall Street ?

Hi Guys,

Srehtims - I went looking at Obama's web site, to see if I could find the names you mentioned; when that failed I googled "obamas chief financial advisors" and found:

See: Snopes

This appears to be a campaign lie spread by McCain.
