Haha, same here. At a family gathering I told that once when I was cutting some cheese onto my dinner, one of my cats started licking at the cheese while i wasn't watching. Naturally I just (in a calm matter) moved her a little bit, and kept cutting the cheese (I did not remove the "licked parts").

As always, my dad started talking about how I would get all kind of diseases, and I responded "it doesn't matter. After all she's (the cat) family". He did not find it amusing. To this day, I still let the cats lick my plate clean if I've eaten something they can handle.

I have learned to feed the cats just before I prepare food or eat otherwise Mithrandir gets frantic and will steal the food as it is going into the mouth!
