| Posted: | | | | Uruguay got momentum back and total took the upper hand in that half having most possession but there was always enoguh orange shirts in the box to see them off. Great work by Forlan to get a goal off hope the Dutch come out firing in the second half. What about that kick though Chuck Norris eat your heart out And this is why i love football cause unlike all the pussy American footballers head to toe in body armour. Footballers can take damage and still get up. If that was an American footballer he take a month off lol |

Edit: Just to clarify: Not because I'm afraid Germany could have the Netherlands in the final. I just like Uruguay. Maybe Germany and the Netherlands will meet on Caturday....I mean Saturday! edit: unlikely at the moment! | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

Mark van Bommel was great, yet again, and van Persie hasn't reached momentum yet.

Too much egoism in the Elftal, too many people that are trying to do it all by themselves when they should pass (van Persie, van der Vaart, Robben), on the other hand players that are trying to serve the team (Kuyt) that only seem to find receivers that don't want the ball (possibly because they didn't win it themselves ) All in all, a lucky win. But it seems to be quite hard to look good against Uruguay (can't remember any team that did so during this tournament). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | We scored more goals against Uruguay than they had received against them in their five earlier matches combined. And I don't think it was a lucky win, although the Dutch did have their weak moments.
Now hopefully it will be the German Foreign Legion that we will face on Sunday. Funny thing is: so far in the tournament the Germans are playing classical Dutch-style football and vice versa. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

also another not FIFA and certain movies theaters have made a deal to show both semi game, 3rd place game and championship game on 3d theaters. but it will only be shown in select theaters. nice way of trying to advertise 3d tv. |

I disagree, we didn't play well, but still were the better team. The goals Uruguay scored were gifted and they didn't create much more. Had we been more accurate in front of goal we could and should have scored 1 or 2 extra goals at 3-1 and the game would have been over 10 minutes before time. Also, i think the octopus may be right. In Holland everybody seems to think (and hope) we face the Germans in the final but i wouldn't count the Spaniards out. They haven't played that well yet and still seem to win, although their goal against Paraguay was offside. Paul Paul |

I disagree, we didn't play well, but still were the better team. I don't disagree on the Elftal being the better team in the end, but for long periods (until the 2:1) it was an equal match and with a bit more luck on the Uruguayan side could have easily turned to the other side. The 1:0 was well deserved, so was the 3:1. But the 2:1 that brought the turn was sheer luck (and passive off-sides). But hey, to win you need luck sometimes (See Germany : England). I too tend to disagree that the Elftal didn't play well. Uruguay has a great defense (it seems that all but two players are in there) and it's very hard for any offense to get through them. Under these circumstances I think Oranje played very well, it just doesn't look beautiful. But better this way than to die in beauty. I wish Oranje all the best (except, of course, if they are playing against Germany on Sunday, then I wish them Montezuma's revenge ( ) ). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
