That's the thing about racism, though, most of it is covert.

Some people think football [and soccer] is a matter of life and death.... I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Yeah those damn froggies

So anyway if you like `Amelie` you might enjoy `Un long dimanche de fiançailles`

The movie was indeed pretty disturbing at some points, my g/f couldn't watch some scenes because of the violance, which made the movie even better

That's really a shame. There are so many GREAT films in languages other than English.

And thats a whole another thought... DVDs of American films almost always have atleast a spanish track.... THIS IS DISCRIMINATION!

It's not discrimination - when you dub a film you lose a lot of subtlety, and what was the last American film you saw that had any subtlety in it?

I have no problem with subtitles, but a friend who speaks the language tells me the English-dubbed version of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is far closer in both literal and nuanced translation than the subtitles are... so one flick out of many tens of thousands, millions...?
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Yep that is the danger with both dubs/subs that they almost tell a different story to the one intended.

I picked up a second copy of The Castle of Cagliostro as the new subs were supposed to be closer.
