Paypal Europe is also a registered Electronic Money Institution registered with the Bank of England, and subject to its rules, like any other money institution registered in England.
Actually the important thing is it's registered with the Financial Services AUthority (at least for those of us in the UK) and as such is subject to their rules and regulations. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I've been a registered PayPal user for 8 years and have never had a problem.
If you are transferring funds electronically from your checking account to your PayPal account, it takes up to 4 business days for funds to become available. Same with paying via echeck...4 business days to clear. Once funds are available in your account, transactions are almost immediate with most vendors. I purchased CuteFTP 8 Home for Windows recently with funds in my PayPal account and 10 minutes after the transaction I received an email from GlobalSCAPE with the registration code. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

That's what I wanted to say. But I got to that info by following a link from the BoE webpage and it stuck in memory Thanks for the correction. | | | With every passing hour our solar system comes forty-three thousand miles closer to globular cluster M13 in the constellation Hercules, and still there are some misfits who continue to insist that there is no such thing as progress. |

Back to that patience thing. You would be well advised to NOT use echeck in the future. I've heard some real horror stories with that, aside from the fact that it takes for frakkin' ever to clear! | | | John

I didn't even know it existed till I sold some things on eBay and the buyers used an echeck through PayPal to pay Took about 3 days to clear. I had the auctions set as PayPal only so I would get the $$$ right away too FWIW - PayPal in general is great IMO. Use it all the time and have been for many years now. |
