Why not? I always liked the show and it's humour. And it's not a best looking contest.

Interesting that an animated character is in the Top 10.

And what is "Not Ready for Primetime Players"?

I was shocked to discover that I've heard off all but three of them.  The ones that didn't ring any bells to me were #36, #68 and #83.

36. Diahann Carroll ... played a nurse (who I believe also played a single Mom in the show) in a TV show called JULIA
68. Don Cornelius ... was the emcee for SOUL TRAIN
83. Isabel Sanford ... played WEEZY on the JEFFERSONS

36 - Still means nothing to me.  I've never heard of the show Julia.
68 - I remember Sour Train, and would probably remember Don Cornelius if I saw him, but I was too young to pay much attention.
83 - I remember The Jeffersons (and Weezy) quite well.  Guess I never knew her real name for whatever reason.

Still, I'm quite surprised I knew or at least recognized the other 97 names.

The list seems a little scewed to more current or recent television icons.  I certainly have nothing against Roseanne, and my comment had nothing to do with her looks, thank you, however I can seriously argue that Ron Howard (Andy Griffith and Happy Days) is a larger Television Icon than Roseanne Barr!!!

I've got a few more oldies to add:

Art Linkletter
Sid Caesar
Garry Moore
Ralph Edwards
Mike Douglas
Alfred Hitchcock
Tyne Daly
Bob Keeshen (aka Captain Kangaroo)
Howdy Doody
Walt Disney
Mickey Mouse
Annette Funicello
Jack Paar
James Arness

Also. Desi Arnaz had a lot to do with Lucy's success as did Sonny Bono for Cher's and Jean Stapleton for Carroll O'Connor's and the entire cast of friends rather than just Jennifer Aniston. Norman Lear was behind All in the Family, Maude and others.

All are more worthy than Marcia Cross for sure.
...James

Never heard of 35 of these American tv giants.

I was thinking similar. Brucie, Parky, Wogan, Chris Tarrant and Trevor McDonald beat the lot, with an honourable mention to Roger Cook. Heck, even Ant and Dec should be in the top ten... did I go too far? Yes, I think I did...

Hoping you are using nick names, or abbreviations, cause I don't know any of these names!!!  For the record, I knew everyone on the original top 25 (I am also 38)!!!
