| Posted: | | | | Finally I can join the 5000+ Club. DVDProfiler actually shows 5270 titles, but as I have some titles which I've used the same collection number on (and some without numbers) I only see my more conservative counting as the true number of titles. I've also uploaded the collection into phpMyProfiler for those interested: http://www.homeofhorror.com/phpmyprofiler/ | | | | | | Last edited: by kosvines |

| Posted: | | | | Commiserations We are now several over the 5000 mark Perhaps we should be classified as incurable addicts? I am worried, just invested in Blu-Ray so I foresee a jump in my numbers until I have a clean-out in the summer | | | |

Near 3500 titles for me and my huge graphisc generates 8.5 GB backup. 5000 titles when I ge there =11-12GB Skip
Am I missing something? Your online collection only shows ~2500 titles?
I can see 5,576! Correct would be 3.786. Because we don't want to count the wishlist, do we. Kulju is right if you count boxsets as 1, no matter how many DVDs are enclosed. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | As much as I am impressed that there are those out there with such an unfathomable huge collection (and believe me I am impressed, and jealouse too, of course), I have a couple of questions for those lucky few amongst us:- Do you simply buy anything and everything out there ? I ask 'cos I'm stuck at around 600 titles and I really do struggle to find titles out there that genuinely appeal. There is after all, so much dross out there ! Secondly how much of your collection have you actually watched? Out of my unworthy 600 I have seen about 80%. Even though I'm single, no kids, and lazy (ok, I work, but I don't work hard ), I struggle to find the time !! I hope one day to be able to join this most exclusive of clubs but I fear either death or the bank manager will catch up with me first Happy viewing folks, Andrew |

| Posted: | | | | I purchase a wide variety of titles. A lot of mine have been to replace an extensive VHS library I had already acquired and the tapes had either already worn out or were close to doing so. I especially like the older movies from the 30's, 40's, and 50's, but also have collected specific series based on Actor/Actress or character (Examples: John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Shirley MacLaine, etc... or 007 James Bond). I have watched all but about 40 or so of the movies in my collection. Not to say I have watched all but 40 of my DVDs but as I previously stated a good portion of my collection was to replace my VHS tapes as those became available on DVD. The one's that I have not watched are generally the more recent releases in the comedy and romantic comedy genres that I have picked up primarily for my wife and daughters enjoyment. Hope this answers your questions.
P.S. Where some have hobbies that involve sports such as hunting, fishing, or golf my first love is cinema and old films so that is where my energy, time, and funds have been focused. | | | NightHawke Wherever I go, there I am!? |

| Posted: | | | | I buy a lot of things sight unseen, based on reviews, cast, etc. that I think I'd like to watch at some point. I buy a lot of TV shows that I liked and that I never seem to be able to catch (or which when re-run are heavily cut). I buy stuff that my family might like to watch when they come to visit (old musicals for mom, Disney and Godzilla for the nephews, etc.), or the gf (who doesn't understand the obsession, but is happy to watch stuff) for movie night. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |
