because it's one method of alerting Ken/Gerri that there is a problem post that they need to look at.

When a post like the original in this thread is deleted, would it be possible to delete the whole thread?  None of the followup comments make sense since the original post only says "* DELETED *"

I'm not sure there's any value to leaving the thread.

I can see kdh's point of view considering nobody else can even vote it down any more.
