Sanuye,

I do not know is this original or not, but I am going to forward it to my wife's best friend who has written an number of cat books. (Kittens for Dummies being one.)

It's a poem by T.S.Eliot "The naming of cats" from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and it's one of the songs from the musical "Cats", music by Andrew Lloyd Webber

My last 3 cats had the follwoing names:

Motherwell's Kafra Shakira
Kylin's Merry-Li
Muffin (SPCA special) derived from Mother Cat, which is what she was called there.

I didn't get to choose the 1st 2 names as that was the registered name given from each of the 2 catteries and I just used the latter parts although Shakira was shortened to Shaks or Kira depending on my mood. Merry-Li never got shortened - never found one I liked!

I have also had Tammy and Snowy as femaile cats and the family has had Ginger (ginger coloured), Biscuit (light golden colour) and Inky (black) for other female names. Over the years we have had a few cats in the family hence the vairiety.

Some other names used have been Marmalade (an orange striped cat) and Fluffy. te rest have been obviously male names.

Yep i had a few friends point that out. And of course my wife pointed out that the book is on my "Pet" shelf of my bookcase. In the words of a certain yelloe gentleman, :D'Oh!".

She looks like my Isabella! I hope you'll be able to get a close up picture of her face but she looks adorable. You might want to see what her personality is like before naming her. I've ended up giving my animals nicknames which were different from what I originally named them!
