Plus a couple of fun points:

The Congress which would elect the President and Vice President would be the incoming Congress and not the outgoing Congress.

Also, the House chooses the President and the Senate chooses the Vice President (by majority of Senators...not majority of states as in the House). Therefore, it's possible to get a President and Vice President from different parties. 

Since we don't know what the makeup of the incoming Congress will be, we can only look at the statistics of the outgoing Congress as a guide. By my count, 26 states have more Democratic representatives than Republicans, 22 have more Republicans, and 2 have split delegations. 

In the Senate, we currently have 49 Dems, 49 Reps, and 2 Independents who vote with the Dems. I would expect that Joe Lieberman (Independent who spoke at the Republican convention) could name his price for his vote. 

Again, that's looking at the current Congress just for fun, and not the incoming Congress which could be very different.
