Tell that to 007. It's a Walther PPK.

BTW, I'm serious. I got a red arrow for my post.

Bond grew up and uses a P99 now

I realize the new Bond uses a P99 but the earlier films are the best. Hence the PPK.

Unless I'm mistaken, the PPK was used by Bond well into the films in the 80's. I know it was used in "A View to a Kill in '85.

Whomever is posting should review the help faq on the reputation system.

Negative feedback should only be used when warranted. Although this can be subjective, here are some general guidelines:

    * Posts with name-calling, belittling, or other rude or insensitive comments can be given negative feedback.
    * Any post that violates the stated forum rules can be given negative feedback.
    * However, it's not necessary for a post to violate stated forum rules for negative feedback to be considered warranted.
    * Disagreeing with a user's opinion is not reason to rate their posts negatively.

If you find yourself about to rate a post negative based solely on the poster's identity, take a moment to consider whether the content of the post is detrimental to the community.

Apparently some people don't find a call for the assassination of the next US president funny. Especially Dan W, who showed such high sensibility in the Patlin thread, shouldn't be *that* surprised.

For the record, I didn't rate any posts in this thread.

Well said, Dr. Killpatient.

FWIW:
I remember when I've been at the German army (long time ago...) an official complaint about e.g. a disciplinarian required one night (12hrs or so) between complaint and incident!

Could be an idea for the reputation system as well...

The Walther while being a fun gun to shoot is most popular in .380.  The round is really only a good killing round at closer distances.  For my CCW I carry either my HK USP .45 or my Sig 229 Equinox.  Both rounds are superior to the .380 in both inflicted damage and knock down.  So while it is fun to own 007's gun, remember her started with a Beretta, went to the PPK, moved on to a 9mm and finished with the HK.

I got one of those red arrows too..... oh well....  considering where I live and that the police are preparing for riots it is unfortunate that I have to think this way of possible defending my home.

Kemper have a green on me, sorry for the A.H.

Yes, yes, I understand all of that. Apparently the joke went over everyone's head.

On the subject of 007's firearms, here is a link which tells far more detail than many want or need on what was used, when it was used and why.
List of James Bond Firearms.

I was being sarcastic. I should know better, it never seems to work here. I don't find an association from "post election mayhem", various pictures of guns, "vote from the rooftops" (Lord of the Sith) to assassination attempts too far fetched, though.

Oh, and I got a red arrow for my post as well.

Well, it seems you are the only person to have made that association since you are the only one to comment on it.

I haven't gotten any red arrows.  Now I feel left out!

(j/k)

Or maybe I should post a picture of a gun.  That seems to be the common factor for getting a red arrow.

If I'm going to get a red arrow, I want to get one for a gun that can beat all your sissy guns.

Oh well, maybe worth a quarter red arrow, Dr. Killpatient!

But this is a really scary weapon:

HA!  I got a red arrow for my Vulcan.  Someone REALLY needs to get a clue.  I'd buy you one but you need to quit hiding first.

I also got a green arrow though.  That person is pretty cool in my book.
