Was Circuit City cheaper or more expensive than, say CostCo??  These days with no one buying CD's, and people really shopping around for the best price on high ticket items such as Plasma and LCD Big screen TV's., a lot of these electronic only stores will really have to find that marketshare of buyers..

Between their sponsorship of the DIVX monstrosity and their habit of never stocking specials shown in their advertising fliers, I'm just as happy they're shutting down.  Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Well I hardly ever went there for that reason and they never had DVDs in stock that were supposed to come out that day. For example last month I went in looking for the Charlie Brown 3 pack and I didn't see it on the shelf, so I went and asked someone. Their response, "Was it in the ad?" No. "Well if it wasn't in the ad, we probably didn't get it."

The Best Buy here doesn't stock half of what is listed in their weekly flyers either, so it's not just them. That's another store that I really have come to dislike.

It sounds as though Circuit City may be forced to liquidate soon.

Another link.
