Yeah....I think the only difference was the lettering is yellow on the "bootleg."

I have a feeling I will be disappointed with the movie because of high expectations. After all it's been the "holy grail" of Argento since it's been unavailable for so long, and I haven't bothered with bootlegs or badly pan & scanned copies. But great that it's finally seeing the light of day. Little strange that no companies been able to release it because of legal issues, and suddenly MYA steps up with a new transfer from the original negative. I do remember Bill Lustig mentioning he failed in getting the rights for a DVD release a few years ago.

Oh you're right - it's nice to see it finally released, and I probably will buy it, but it's by no means a lost classic. I'd say it's probably the weakest film of what people call his "Animal trilogy".
I am curious to know how they managed it (if they manage it!).

I've seen it once before, and enjoyed it. Of course the video/audio quality (and aspect ratio) weren't the greatest, so I look forward to revisiting it in a better form.

It's up for pre-order at Amazon.com

I saw it first on a dodgy VHS copy, but I bought the 'bootleg' from Xploited Cinema in March this year, and really enjoyed it. It is grainy in places, and the audio does tend to 'wobble' and fade out in places, but for me Four Flies is one of my favourite Argento films!
