All you have to do is go where you add by disc ID... at the bottom of that screen un-check the spot that says Download Profiles from Invelos... and then you will be able to create the child profiles. | | | Pete |

I just finished entering my entire collection (2,000+ discs) and found many TV sets where the child profiles were in the database, but not attached to the box set. yes, this is true I have encountered some but this is not one of them. It makes me wonder though why these exist. what is happening that child profiles are not associated with the box set and how do you correct that. |

Thanks for this tip. I will have to try this when I get home. Addicted2DVD is there a way to propagate the data from the parent/boxset or from brother child profile so you do not have to re-enter every little detail again? |

| Posted: | | | | Not Addicted, but yes there is. Select the original profile (the one with all the data you want) and at the bottom of the DVD menu you'll find the option "Copy". Then simply select the new profile, choose "Paste" from the same menu and you'll get a list of tickboxes where you can pick and choose which data you want to copy over. |

I wish there was a tutoral on creating these that everyone could refrence that had this info we are learning in it. This will be very useful. I knew the trick, when you hit ctrl+F12, it will search for child profiles associated with the parent and then attach them automatically. Thanks again for your help. One last thing not related to childs profiles but how do you mark a profile that you have more that one copy of that item? Am I just missing this somewhere? |

Am I just missing this somewhere? That's a limitation of the program as it stands currently. There are a number of different ways that you can record the info though. Some people use tags to mark DVDs they have duplicate copies of, others make a mention in the Notes section. Others convert the profile into a manual profile (disconnecting it from the online) and then simply add the DVD a second time - though only 1 profile will ever get updates that way. I'm sure there are other ways I haven't thought of. |

I've contributed quite a few child profiles and not their box sets. If you want the child profile, just go get it. I'm not about to start editing an existing boxset profile and taking the heat for that. It's not worth it. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |
