| Posted: | | | | (?) Must I up-convert the UPC's
I have a large number of manual / custom DVD's in my collection... many of 200+ DVD's came from magazines such as the former 'Inside DVD'
--- But I do have a hint for others that need to update UPC... Open up the back image and read the UPC listed on the scan.. And if you have troubles reading the image use the built in Windows Magnifier to enlarge the image.

Thanks. I've got all that. My question is where I get the disk IDs or UPCs to change in DVD>Change UPC. My problem is that all my disks are in a changer, so it is a real hassle to have to go to each one, remove it from the changer and scan it in DVD Profiler. Likewise, all my DVD cases are in storage and I'd have to make a trip and hunt through boxes to retrieve them. The kicker is that all my unconverted disks are big titles (like LOTR: The Fellowship of the Rings and Godfather II). They are all in the Add DVD database, it is just that I don't know how to link what's in the database with what's in my collection already. All I really need to be able to do is to cut and past the UPC or Dick ID from the Add DVD database into the clipboard so that I can copy it into DVD>Change UPC. Can't help you there. Depends on how bad you want those UPCs fixed, I guess. You could go to DeepDiscount.com and look up each one, but you run the risk of getting the wrong UPC that way. | | | John

I do have another question. Several of the dvd upcs that need to be changed, have the corre t 12 digit numbers, but DVDPro does not delete the check mark. The dvds are in the database, and I am told that the dvd is in my collection. Is this a glitch that will be corrected eventually?
How can I find the dvds that were not carried over from 2.5? this is going to bug me all night!!!
Thanks again

What is it complaining about? Are you using the entire UPC/EAN? Remember, with the new version of DVDP, we don't strip off the first and last numbers.
21 Jump Street Seasons 2: UPC = 013131-281095 21 Jump Street Seasons 3: UPC = 013131-288490 Yes--I used all 12 digits. Some of the DVDs in the invalid UPC list were chopped to the 10 digits, but many have all 12--so I'm not sure what it is complaining about for those. | | |

| Posted: | | | | I've got the same on some titles. Although the DVD is in the Flag set, the UPC in the profile matches the complete UPC on the cover.
Re-entering the complete UPC again does not help either, the title stays in the flag set (others are automatically removed after changing the UPC) and the screen asking for the change of UPC does not appear either. | | | Lutz |

I had thought the number was correct - but found that there were two separate numbers which I needed to pick up. Also - if you don't have the covers handy then look at the cover in the database - that may give you the missing numbers. | | | Paul |

How do I check the disc id when I have over 2600 dvds? Is there a simple way to do this?
Thanks

| Posted: | | | | Most covers, even those I put in myself, are low-res, since I worked on the adverted version of DVDP before. Only with v3 I decided to pay - one reason being that it now looks as if the program is going anywhere. |

Randy Hard work, and no. You have to stick the disc in the drive so the program can read it and update the field. No way to make it easy or automated except to just do it. | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I have changed all my incorect UPS but have many Disc id's that can't be changed manually as far as I know. When I put the disc in to have the program change the Disc id it is not recognized. The only way I have been able to correct the Disc id is to use add disc in CD-rom and then copy all the Disc data, images and profiles and then delete the one with the bad Disc id. Anyone found an easier way to fix these Disc id as I have over 200 to fix. Love this new program Bill | | | Last edited: by wdaub1 |
