I agree with Addicted that it should be only one profile per disc on TV series.

That said if the rules were changed I would then stop making child profiles for TV series because I think it would just add more clutter to DB and inflate it even more beyond what it is now.

Currently I have 766 TV series  and 3098 child profiles, adding a Side B to several hundred of these would be over my head, at which time I would revert back  to Parent Profiles only, deleting the Child Profiles.

That's a consideration as well, I agree.

Seems to happen a lot more in the US. Of my 230 seasons and 1272 season disc profiles there are only 82 "side profiles" (A or B).

But as hal pointed out it's the same amount of work as if the distributor had them made single-sided.

I see no reason not to create profiles for each side of the disc.
Over here if a TV series has been released on double sided discs they're very often later re-packaged as single sided discs anyway so the profile gets created anyway, just at a later date.

Do you really have that many double-sided discs for TV sets?

I actually don't have that many.

Just a quick scroll down my data base I found 93 series which are doubled sided a rough average of 4 discs per set would be 372 more profiles. I also found quite a few with no disc ID's.

Hal is right about the amount of work but going back and redoing the profiles and all the overviews would be a lot of work I'm not going to do. There are very few child profiles being up dated to the 3.5 system now, why make more changes.

I just stated what my thoughts were and the amount of work that I've put into it and for me it just one of those things that will not happen.

How ever the vote goes, or the rules change is fine, I'm not going to fight it.

Wow, that's more than I expected.  I can see why you wouldn't want to go to all that trouble.

I think were arguing semantics.

In film you would create an "A" and "B" profile, as long as "A" and "B" were not 1 the same movie or continuation of a movie.

I do not see a difference.  Since we are able to create child profiles, and each side has a different ID, then I do not see what the problem is.  It can be interpreted to allow a profile for each side.  It does not specifically say that you can not do it.

Personally, I would be happy to have each of the seasons considered 1 feature and have all the disk ID's in 1 profile.
