Last I read through them, Ken specifically stated that IMDB is a "third party" site that is never allowed to be used as a source for contributions.
Of course, if you keep it local, you can use anything you want. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

| Posted: | | | | You can't outright copy things from Imdb. For example, you can't just state "cast and crew copied from Imdb". You can however use it as a validation source to verify details of your contribution, i.e. Birth Years, same person verifications, a film lacking actor roles, etc.
You should never use it as the sole validation source though, that much is clear. You should always try to add several validation sources.
People tend to forget that Imdb isn't completely forbidden on DVD Profiler. It's a valid addition in profile links, and even appears in the actual program itself under links. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | What Kat said. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

| Posted: | | | | Never visit IMDb. In fact never even thing about visiting IMDb. I have it from the uncle of a guy I work with that during startup, Profiler investigates the temp space to see if there are any IMDb related items in cache and will immediately crash if it finds anything! Argh!!! What have I done? Just by posting this I think I've permanently burned my Profiler registration! |

| Posted: | | | | I used to be quite active in IMDB contribution. The problem with using them as a source for uncredited roles is lots of aspiring actors and crew try to get themselves added to movies they may or may not have been involved with to bolster their resume and they sometimes succeed. IMDB is useful for lots of things, but this isn't one of them. |
