Be that as it may, this question is about a crew credit, not a cast credit.
pdf I know it is from his post, that is was a typo and that this thread is about crew credits. My point, however, still stand. Antares criticized Skip's typos, then proceeded to duplicate one. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Soime people's hatred is so great . Martian, that they just can't control themselves. Just as Paul just had to try and take note of the Crew, instead of the cast, while NOT taking notice that ninehours had made a new post which made it clear what he was reefrring and I immediately posted another response addressing that point. But thqat did not fit with what Paul wanted to do. Antares: My typos are well known and the subject of much rib-poking, even by me. In fact, they even have their own name...Skipos. That has absolutely no bearing on totally missing the poijnt...unless the user was unable to sort out the typos...which is possible. Nut I didn't see anything that indicated that was the problem. He simply and completely missed the point...no big deal, we all do that from time to time.<shrugs> Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

... Skip You are kidding, right? Not once in this thread have you talked about crew credits, which is what this thread is about!pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

| Posted: | | | | No, I am NOT kidding, Paul. Your posts speak for themselves, very eloquently, as does, evidently, your total failure to understand my first two posts. It's very sad....but....

T'was far more commonplace to have some form of Cart list; sometimes front, sometimes back or both (without Roles).
You can't blame people for not understanding what you write, when said people have to re-read a post two or three times to decipher it. If you are going to criticize someone, for the errors in their post, you better be darned sure you didn't make any yourself. We deal with cast lists, not cart lists. I don't even know what a cart list might be. If you read his post, I took it directly from his quote. I thought he meant a generalized, all information lumped together in a basket type description, hence cart. I'll be honest, I thought it may have been a British description for a certain kind of list. You know, with a British film being discussed, The Dam Busters. I just thought Skip was trying to be cheeky. My mistake. If this had been a question pertaining to a cast member, I probably would have made that distinction. | | | Last edited: by Antares |

Skip Let's see: Quoting ninehours: Quote: Sorry, yes i'm talking about his crew credit (OMB) just want to find out if the Guy Gibson credits are correct thereby making the common name "Guy Gibson" Notice how the words "Crew" and "Credit" are meticulously placed after each other. After which, you reply: Quoting Woola: Quote: "If an actor is credited by name but does not have an associated role, you may use the film itself, or another source to identify the role. However, mass copy from a third party commercial database which violates their stated usage license is not allowed. In each case, list Actor’s names and roles (when given) exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited."
We are not talking about an actor's name but the ROLE that he played." Um. No, we are not talking about a role he played, because of the aforementioned "Crew" and "Credit". See, here it is again: Quoting ninehours: Quote: I am talking about his crew credits (thought I'd made that obvious by including the CLT results in my original post) the whole point of this post IS to get the people who have the Guy Gibson profiles to check the ACTUAL credits to see if they are correct? No mention of "Cast" in either of ninehours' posts. Please Skip. Read, think and then reply. Preferably in that order. |

Usually I'm not a big fan of "me too" posts, but in this instance I think it's merited: I, too, thought "cart list" was a term regarding credits that I was unfamiliar with. Most of the time I can decipher a typo, but sometimes I can't and worse, sometimes I don't even realize it was a typo to begin with, and that's when miscommunications occur. And I'm not jumping in on this to attack Skip, but rather to agree that Antares has a point. We all make typos, but I think it's a worthwhile suggestion that all of us proofread our posts before hitting that Submit button. At least if we want to make sure we're understood properly. | Posted: | | | | As I have stated many times if you are unclear as to what I am saying, you have but to ask. I have read and re-read my posts, typos included and i still think i was VERY clear and precise in my discussion...typos aside But to attack as some do, simply displays both a level of hatred and inability to comprehend simple concepts, but if you truly do not understand if you ask I will try to clarify. I thought ninehours was relatively unclear in his post as demonstrated by my initial discussion of Cast data (specifically Roles), while I was composing that post upon submitting it i saw that he had calrified and made it clear that he was concerned about crew data, I immediately addressed that issue with the shorter post. But as uisual I am not allowed to try and be helpful without being attacked, no this doe not include Astra or Antares. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | I just think a lot of people don't understand Skip. Everything I've read from him has been positive and he never loses his cool. He never attacks anybody personally so why do you all continually berate him? You are all making this forum unpleasant to visit. If it wasn't for Skip being such a kind guy with all his pointers and helpful hints I would leave this site. |
