| Posted: | | | | You can't use the theatrical version as a parent profile, because the rules say (according to Berak): Take the longest version... (Anyway, I have not found that rule anywhere... where is it???) If that's true, it would be the Collector's Edition of 1997. But after all that's not a good idea anyway. There have been two different theatrical versions in cinemas: The 1977 Original Version and the 1980 Special Edition. And according to that there was the 1997 Collector's Edition on DVD and VHS. For me we have here three different film versions with three different child profiles inside a parent profile called "30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition". It's quite similar with BLADE RUNNER.
What do you do with a film like PAYCHECK? What is the parent profile? The longer version? The DC??? | | | Last edited: by schaumi |

Quoting from the rules; Running Time Use the Running time specified on the DVD cover unless you can verify there is a discrepancy between that and the actual Running time. When contributing an accurate, DVD-based, time from the DVD, round down from 29 seconds and up from 30 seconds in the nearest minute. Include your verification method in your Contribution Notes. For instance, note that a given movie has an actual Running time of 119: 37, Running time would be 120 even if the case said 119 or 121. For branching titles, or those with multiple versions (e.g. Theatrical and Director's Cut) on the same disc, use the longest running time. Exception: If the longer version is available only as part of an Easter Egg, use the shorter running time. | | | Berak

If the multiple versions are on seperate discs, as they are in these sets, the rule does not apply. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Ill admit my copy is one disc branching and I see no logical way to make child profiles, but it does suck for watched statistics purposes, what if you wanted to watch 2 different versions the same day or the next day your watched stats would look funny.
That's why I like the profile idea. |
