Given this additional piece of vital information, then I agree with "Carry On: Don't Lose Your Head". Sorry, the Carry On films are so well known in Britain that you forget that other country's may never have heard of them |

Last time someone asked, we got this: http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=421218 No, serious: In that case (what is seen on the cover) it looks like a typical episode descriptor, so according to the rules, you have to use the colon. | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

| Posted: | | | | Given that the full series consists of * Carry On Sergeant (1958) * Carry On Nurse (1959) * Carry On Teacher (1959) * Carry On Constable (1960) * Carry On Regardless (1961) * Carry On Cruising (1962) * Carry On Cabby (1963) * Carry On Jack (1963) * Carry On Spying (1964) * Carry On Cleo (1964) * Carry On Cowboy (1965) * Carry On Screaming (1966) * Carry On Don't Lose your Head (1966) * Carry On Follow That Camel (1967) * Carry On Doctor (1967) * Carry On Up The Khyber (1968) * Carry On Camping (1969) * Carry On Again Doctor (1969) * Carry On Up The Jungle (1970) * Carry On Loving (1970) * Carry On Henry (1971) * Carry On at Your Convenience (1971) * Carry On Matron (1972) * Carry On Abroad (1972) * Carry On Girls (1973) * Carry On Dick (1974) * Carry On Behind (1975) * Carry On England (1976) * That's Carry On! (1977) Compilation * Carry On Emmannuelle (1978) * Carry On Columbus (1992) I would definitely think that at least Original Title is without colon.
Edit: Surprise! I popped this title in my player to check it out, and the actual onscreen title is just "Don't Loose Your Head". So I guess "Carry On: Don't Loose Your Head" is not only correct for DVD Profiler, but also quite appropriate otherwise. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Hi ninehours, but the title of the film is already correct in the database as are all the other Carry On films. When they are listed in the national papers TV listings here they are always shown as follows "Carry On Don't Lose Your Head" or Carry On At Your Convenience" | | | Last edited: by Moses277 |

I don't think this film was originally released as a "Carry On", i have a book about the Carry On films but it is packed away in a box, I'll see if i can dig it out |

| Posted: | | | | Strange that they were not done as Carry On films. They have the same director and producer as all the other films, the actors are typical Carry On actors, and the theme of the films certainly fit... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | They were the first two films in the series made when The Rank Organisation took over. IIRC it was simply because they didn't like the name. |

| Posted: | | | | No kidding? Well it looks like they saw the light after that... Btw, I have them all (except Columbus) - bought the full box set a few months ago, and have watched them chronologically up to "... Matron" so far. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. | Posted: | | | | Found this INFO. Quote: This was the first Carry On film to be made by the Rank Organisation due to changes happening at Anglo Amalgamated. Whilst Rank were very keen to take on Peter Rogers' films, they weren't keen to have the 'Carry On' prefix, which sounds a bit ludicrous but that's what happened. So this film was released originally as merely 'Don't Lose Your Head'. The situation lasted for another film until it was decided to add Carry On to the beginning of this and Follow That Camel, for the purposes of a re-release. This explains their rather strange titles. |

Quote: Carry On: Don't Lose Your Head As James say Don't see a reason to debate this Well, for a start none of the films have ever had colons in any listing I have ever seen (DVDs, the booklets from dvds, books, TV, websites). There is no colon in these titles. Just because they are a series doesn't mean there is. When you read the titles there is no pause after Carry On, it is one continuous title just like Carry On Doctor and Carry On Again Doctor. Just because it's on another line in another font, doesn't mean it should have a colon. They (for the main part) are not sequels or anything either. Though saying that, I can agree with a colon due to "Carry On" being added at a later date. | | | Last edited: by samuelrichardscott |
