what I meant was slated - which in the context of film reviews means given a poor rating.

I knew it would be too good to be true to see this -ten months before release date ,, But set the PVR and the 212 min film with its Glorious colors was letterboxed (2.76:1 )during the opening 7 minute Overture , but then went to 1.78 for the rest of the movie INCLUDING the chariot race..  Even the 1980's VHS set had the forsight to please us with the chariot race in widescreen and the rest of the movie in pan and scan 1.33 for that videotape release.. even the intermission and exit music was in widescreen but not the film itself ...  I can't blame the network ( Movie Central) as they confirmed with me that the print they received was what the studios released to them . I guess Warner's wanted to just whet our whistle with this one.. and Even the audio , normally 5.1 was only Dolby surround or stereo ... But the print was outstanding even though we lost a third of the picture due to 16x9 framing . how about the USA or European televised events of this in High Def.. what release did you receive??? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird.
