Marvel has been contoversal since the 1960's. It seems like you have not followed comics for a while. Marvel is very grit. The have been breaking the blood code since the 80's. They have been darker in the last decade, but differant title have been marketed to differant audiances. |

I stopped reading in the late '80s, early '90s. I have never liked the dark story lines so returning to their roots, in my opinion, is a good choice. The first thing they did, however, was not bring back Captain America.
Captain America: Reborn #6 is just coming out. Put that in perspective, that's six months of the comic being published. That brings us back to September, when the FIRST issue was published. Let's not give the writers the benefit of the doubt and say they only had his revival planned for... mmmm... three months before the first issue was published (considering Bryan Hitch is penciling it, that's a totally unrealistic amount of time... the guy is painfully slow with his work... so we're probably looking more along the lines of six months lead-up time to the first issue being published). That brings us to June (three months does, not six months).
Disney buys Marvel in August, two full months after Captain America's revival is put into the works (again, this is all such a loose timeline it's ridiculous), and that's your proof that Disney is about to ruin Marvel? Thin argument. It's obvious that Brubaker has been planning this pretty much from the beginning. We haven't actually seen ANYTHING that shows that Disney is turning Marvel back into kiddie fair (really... how long was New Avengers going to last? As with all things Marvel [ex: Thor #600, Hulk #600, Spider-Man #600 etc.] everything goes back to a similar place to where it was before things were changed).
And you want to know what? It's time for a change. Just because Captain America, Iron Man and Thor are going to be in The Avengers again doesn't mean they're not going to get the ever loving shiitake mushroom kicked out of them on a monthly basis. It doesn't mean the bad guys aren't going to win sometimes. That people will die. That violence will ensue. That worlds will die (something that's been happening since the 60's in Marvel comics, LONG before they went darker).

You generaly don't like the darker stories of the nintes. I wish I was around in the sixties ti get those comicss. Do you still have any? Im sory if I came of as insulting, but the problem with the internet is that you can't hear peoples tones. |

Im gald that Cap is coming back, he is my fasvorite Marvel hero and Ultimate Captain America is not the same thing, I don't care what anybody says. I am more upset that the darker storylines are going away. I loved Civil War and hoped Disney would make a movie. I have hated the Avengers since they disassembled and made it an aal star like Justice league.

| | Posted: | | | | I have nothing aginst them bringing back Captain America, or the origional Avengers. He is my favorite Marvle character, as the Avengers are my favorite team. I hate the Mighty Avengers, New Avenger and so on. The New Avengers tried to copy The Justice League and make it an all star team, which works in DC but not Marvel. My problem is with them dumming down the storylines. Civil War was the best comic event in 20 years. This will not hurt some characters as much as others, like The X-Men Wolvierine, and The Punisher. Don't forget about the Ultimate marvel line. Whay can't they just market the two universies to differant people. |
