Remember L.A Confidential. I'm sorry, but Hurt Locker is a terrible war movie. I'm sorry, but Hurt Locker is a terrible war movie. If it was set in some fictional universe, it may make more sense, but to portray this fiction as anything that even remotely resembling anyone in the US military or situation in Iraq is akin to saying Dirty Harry is an accurate portrayal of your typical police department. Well if you can ignore that aspect of it is a good film in my view. Lawrence of Arabia, Braveheart hardly accurate. |

Agreed. I guess the film industry has a different definition for the word 'best' than I do. I don't think Oscar or any award has any bearing on what i buy. All it does is bring more films to my attention. I often also find myself at odds with critics i was watching Boy In The Striped Pyjamas. It's a very interesting concept for a story but it felt a little short and the kid that played the son of comedant was a pretty awful actor. There was just no improvisation in his performance it was like he was reading it straight from the scrip i could not engage in it in any way. |
