Like I said... wasn't about this name. I was afraid that would be misread... that is why I tried to clear it up with an edit.

I understand what you are saying.  Rick responded before your edit and, like I said, I was thinking the exact same thing...then I got to your edit.  I neglected to include that last part, which seems to have cause some confusion.  Sorry about that.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

well at least we made it to page 2.    Now maybe we can call this case resolved?

So even though we have the person in question telling us how she parses her name you're looking at the poll numbers.  How do any votes even count after the answer is found?

Either way, if we can't trust the person in question to give us the answer then what other source could we be looking for? It's like saying yes, I know your name is lyonsden5 but the community took a poll and we think it should be lyonsden4.

Other than Ms. Baker-Landers (her parsing, not mine) actually posting here herself what else do you want to consider it resolved?

For me it would be enough.

But...

If it is also for the community we will also get a clear favor in the poll. Then we would have some kind of democratic decision based on the given facts.

The problem is a lot of people voted before all the evidence was posted. Ok, some of them might come back and change their vote, but not all.
I think the fact that we have evidence that the woman herself considers her surname to be Baker Lander should supercede any poll.

Edit: I see you edited you post. I agree caution is OK but at some point you have to just trust someone somewhere. Who's going to create a fake account for someone that doesn't have many people who care what they have to say to begin with?!?

I was thinking the exact same thing.  Using caution for a big name celeb makes perfect sense, but a sound editor?  I am willing to be that most people have never heard of her.

+1

Count me in for Karen//Baker Landers. And thanks to VirusPil for providing that link!

But what evidence do we have that is "good enough"?

We have conflicting information.
We have interviews with Landers.
We have her own company website which refers to her as Landers.

We have news articles to support both versions but no one appears to have spoken to her, simply reported.

We have Facebook where i saw nothing to support either way.

We have Twitter coming out of left field.  I don't know if Twitter limitations forced that spelling or what (Tweeter doesn't Twitter).

The only solid sources i see are the first i mentioned where someone actually spoke to her and her own company bio (something she had control over).

I see nothing to change my vote from K/B/L.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I don't know if it is in the USA similar: In Germany when there is a last name it is not uncommon and it can happen, sometimes a part of this double name is left out. So it could be they refer to Baker Landers or just to Landers.
And nearly all sources we can find are not directly from her. So variations can happen.

That's why I always think it is hard to parse a name. Most times we just can get indications.
