| Posted: | | | | James, you were one of those who a few weeks ago told me that we could operate by Convention or Consensus. Are we in a new phase of the moon. Or is it simply that you WANT to able to create convention or consensus in this case. Can you say...hypocrisy....I knew that you could. The ONLY person who can make this call is Ken Cole, that's what you told me, so that is what I have to tell you. You cannot decide to create a Rule that suits you, neither can the Martian. You have to be consistent, james and that is something which has never been your strong suit. Sorry, pal but that's a fact | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

I didn't express an opinion on the topic of the thread I quoted nor have I expressed an opinion on the topic of this thread. I've simply expressed surprise that in the quoted thread, you agreed that Special Gore Effects is functionally equivalent to Make-up Effects whereas in this thread, you are quoting the chart to object that Special Make-up Design cannot be credited as either Make-up Artist or Make-up Effects. | | | ...James

Personally speaking i happen to be of the opinion that we can do this, though in this case I would not for the reasons i expounded upon. I am simply, at the moment, following your and the martian's wisdom, which is that we cannot create a convention or a consensus opinion and follow that until ken chooses to catch up, that's all i am doing. And you and the martian seem to now be following a different logic train...why I don't know, I do find it amusing, sadly so, but amusing nonetheless.
Now i do think that we can follow consensus or convention we have done so historically in some cases. But i would not do so in this case as i stated. Special Make-up Design could follow under either Make-Upp Effects OR Make-Up Artist depending upon the context involved, and since there are very few users actually willing to deal with Actual Credits in their notes because ken does NOT require that they do so, we have no picture of what that context might be and which category it should fall under at any given time, depending on the film. <shrugs> Now if ken gives Open Credits then this like so many other such subjects becomes a total non-issue. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! Sorry, pal but that's a fact Skip, It might be that I am still stinging from some of the comments you addressed to me but I wish that you would please stop calling people names. Sometimes I get very frustrated when you express such anger and animosity. For example, in a couple of today's postings you take such a firm and rigid stance in your position that you found it necessary to, in my opinion, resort to comments that are not necessary. This, in turn, makes others respond in kind. All of this makes me very uncomfortable. What bothers me most, and why I have decided to single you out, is that in a few of these threads you are adamant about not listing anyone that is not specifically listed in the Crew Chart. Yet, not so long ago you argued the exact opposite point. I spent over an hour looking for the topic, not to embarrass you or pick on you specifically but to illustrate that the rules are not black and white even to you: http://invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=424218&messageID=1147547#M1147547 |

Skip, I found that almost all the responses made were retorts to comments you made. But, I did express a comment on them also: "All of this makes me very uncomfortable." I'm sorry if what I wrote was inadequate. To everyone that posts on the forums. I have found many of the comments on the forums have made me very uncomfortable. I wish that you would refrain from calling other people names and would like to ask you to please refrain from posting any rude and unnecessary criticism of others. If you are going to post something that might be hurtful or unnecessary, please do not hit the Submit button. Ask yourself if this comment were directed at you, would it be appreciated? I would like everyone to deal with each other in a kind and thoughtful manner. I have asked for this so many times I feel like a broken record. Is it so hard to be nice to each other? If someone bothers you, ignore them. Start anew. Become a better person. Make the forums a better place. |

I did not attack, northbloke, the post that he referenced was not attack on him. It was a sarcastic remark aimed at another user, but he had to jump into it with an attack on me. You called me out I didn't see that you called north. I didn't see that you called north for his LIE . I have not seen you call Alien out for his insulting remarks. Did I see you tell Taro that his goodbye, Skip is picking on me was unacceptable, NO, I didn't, as I recal you even commiserated. I call it selective criticism, not fair. Show me FAIR.
I want to be nice, that does not mean i will stop being opinionated or defending said opinions, but my preference is to be nice, laugh and tell stupid jokes. But there are some users here who I will not name who simply will not allow that. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Just what the hell are you accusing me of Kathy? All I am is nice to you, and I get this sort of crap thrown back in my face?? Well... humph to you!!! (Did I get the eye rolley smiley right this time? ) P.S. I agree with Kathy. If someone is going to post an insult, or call someone a name, read it over before you hit the submit button and ask yourself "is arguing over the internet REALLY something I want to do with my time?" Sometimes it's fun for me to read... , but really? There's gotta be better ways to discuss stuff around here. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

I'M KING O' THE WORLD! At least a legend in your own mind, eh Do we or dobn't we. Do we strictly go by the crew table, or do we go where the data leads us. One day, it's argued one way, the next day it is the other. Please decide. And yes, I have been contributing similar roles as such, and I have been posting the actual credits. They have been voted on and accepted. No issues Charlie |

Please decide. That's what I was trying to get at...but then we went down this road of [to fill in the blanks for those confused by the oblique shorthand of what I was being accused of] how my statements on the issue of where to put the "3-D" descriptor for any possible 3-D releases was somehow responsible for a shift from "we don't" to "we do" on the issue of strictly following the crew chart. It was a all a little too for me, so I went a little for a bit. | | | ...James
