| | Posted: | | | | Mel Gibson always seemed like a nice guy, but in light of this (and it's no secret that he's an anti-semitic) my views on Mel Gibson have changed. But it doesn't change anything regarding his professional career, as I have no problems looking past his personal "misfires". I guess that's why they call it acting  I also watch Polanski's movies. I'm not sure I would call him a pedophile, since he was probably under the influence of drugs (no excuse, BTW). A pedophile is (at least in my eyes) someone that look at (or rape) pre-teens, and has an attraction to underage girls/boys. If Polanski fantasizes about this still, then yes, he's a pedophile, but I doubt that. Most people have some skeletons in the closet. If we were to boycott movies/music by those criteria, it wouldn't be much left to boycott. | | |  |

This society has become to enthralled with celebrities and everything that they do at anytime. I pay no credence to these when related to a persons performance.
That would be the same as telling me that you don't want me to repair your telephone lines, because I am have a very heated divorce. If I do my job, and you are satisfied with the work I do, what happens outside of work (short of some heinous crimes) should be no concern of anybody else besides the parties involved.

Personally i dont think its any secret that Gibson was sexists, anti-semitic and whatnot. This tape just took it a nodge higher. Personally i cant watch a movie thats lead actor/actress is a complete unfriendly person. I mean if hes playing the "good samaritan", it doesnt seem credible enough for me. |

So you don't watch movies with Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Tom Cruise, Collin Farrell, ... ?? For me it seems to be system-immanent that a good actor/actress has a strange view on reality. It's their bloody job to have it, otherwise they wouldn't be such good actors. The problem arises if those celebrities get some kind of Jesus-complex and believe that their way of thinking is the only correct way.
