| Posted: | | | | Ok first off I noticed this I am going to assume that you change all no collection numbers to -1 ? Next when I goto up Generate files and upload, it dosen't seem to be running the whole collection. My XML file is 12k lines, I would expect it to take a while to generate new code. Next up mine looked like 8ballMax's no images and it seem links are broken ? http://www.robagd.com/DVDP any who, very possible I am screwing the pooch here, let me know. Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, I set all the unnumbered titles to -1 and then force them to be checked for exclusion from the upload.
It doesn't seem like some of your files are uploaded. You appear to have most/all of the core files, and obviously the generated search.php and data*.php files are there. But it doesn't seem like any of your cover art is there, nor are the php files for each title.
Do you have a directory here with all your hi-res cover art? http://www.robagd.com/DVDP/covers/ With files that look like this? http://www.robagd.com/DVDP/covers/717951004659f.jpg http://www.robagd.com/DVDP/covers/717951004659b.jpg And a similar directory for your thumbnails? (note: yes, it's pics, not thumbs like I posted before) http://www.robagd.com/DVDP/pics/717951004659f.jpg
In your output directory locally, you should see 835 php files with UPC names like 717951004659.php. So on your website you'd see 835 files similar to this. http://www.robagd.com/DVDP/717951004659.php | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine | | | Last edited: by redscull |

| Posted: | | | | That seems to be the problem it isn't generating the files :/
my DVDP XML file in on my desktop
the webgendvd.exe is in Program Files (x86)\Media\RedSkullWeb\
the image directory is on the PC is :
C:\Users\Robert\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\Images
C:\Users\Robert\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\Images\Thumbnails
Your program is finding it, and the images show up in the program.
Just dosen't seem to be actually generating real output on teh desk top.

| Posted: | | | | That's because it doesn't think you've added any new titles since the last time it ran. Or because it can't write the titles' php files. The generated files are in an output subdirectory of the webgendvd.exe location.
Can you check this directory? \Program Files (x86)\Media\RedSkullWeb\output\ Is there a file like this? \Program Files (x86)\Media\RedSkullWeb\output\717951004659.php
This might be a case of Vista/Win7 security restrictions (recall that I only run XP). It might not let my exe write to the program files directory because that's bad practice according to Windows standards (apps are supposed to write to the Application Data directory). Try running webgendvd.exe as an admin, or move RedSkull into a subdirectory of your user documents directory or application data directory. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |

| Posted: | | | | Going to your site, I can see it's definitely worked/working now. Not all the images are there, though. Either they're still uploading, or it was just too much data at once and lost connection? If FTPU won't shove all those images up in one go, you might just have to manually upload all your cover arts.
Thanks for helping me figure out some of the kinks, especially the Vista/Win7 write access thing. The ZIP now includes a readme.txt with the notes from this thread and a note in particular about that. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |

| Posted: | | | | Yea I didn't relized that my images directory was over 200mb so I stopped the upload, Ill finish that from work. I did push the php files as that was a rather small upload.
Something I foound kinda interesting is that my cover images has a lot more images that I have titles, then when I thought about it, its that fact all the season DVD's that downloaded child profiles ( which I delete from my personal collection ) left all the Disc ID images behind.
So if all goes well I'll have everything done by lunch time today.
Thanks again for your help

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for changing the names of your image files Robert. Upload goes smoothley with no errors now. Thanks also for fixing the "no collection number" issue. It looks like all my profiles are there but not all of the images. As you suggested to RobAGD, it looks like it's a timeout issue and I'll have to upload the images manually...no big deal. Here's a link to the collectionOnce again, thanks for the work . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I'm glad it's working for you both! That was a little bumpier than I'd hoped since my goal was that this tool would require no real technical knowledge to be able to use to get a site like mine. Heopfully the couple changes and the readme.txt now in the ZIP can help with that.
I'll admit that FTPU isn't the most wonderful FTP utility in the world. I created that a long time ago to serve the purpose of making it easy for any application I write to be able to programmatically perform FTP uploads. It does generally work just fine when you're doing an update with only a few dozen new titles, but that initial site upload for a large existing collection is probably a bit much for it to handle.
On a side note, I happened to visit vudu.com for the first time yesterday and noticed that they use the same general approach to title layout that my site does! | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |

On a side note, I happened to visit vudu.com for the first time yesterday and noticed that they use the same general approach to title layout that my site does! I’m sure the readme.txt will help out newbies. I’ve been doing this for years with my regular phpDVDProfiler site so it wasn’t a problem for me. I use CuteFTP Home (retail version) to upload files to my web server and find it very robust and intuitive. I’ll eventually dump my phpDVDProfiler site and opt for this simpler format because it’s become too much of a chore just to update it. I love the phpDVDProfiler format and all of the info that it provides but due to problems with my site provider, it can take hours of sitting at my PC hitting the back button on my browser until I can get my entire collection updated. When I get home from work today I’ll go ahead and upload all of my images using CuteFTP and hopefully that will complete the site. I’ll let you know how it goes. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I use Filezilla and it works well for me.
I never played with phpprofiler, but as the Andorid tablet with IR blasters are making their way to market, I am looking at a way to do something like this for play selections.
More fun stuff to work on :D

| Posted: | | | | Ok found a small issue, Profiles in a box set, seem not to generate something, I manually pushed the image files and they are not showing up.
Seems maybe something with the php code ? vs the image files name ?
Check out Bach section ( 4th )
Thanks again for this!

| Posted: | | | | Here's some Javascript that I use to determine the size of the browser page if you want to try determining the initial max number of rows and columns. It works by placing a div block at the bottom right-hand side of the page and then determining the X & Y coordinates of that div block.
I'm assuming that you use cookies to remember the user's selected Width/Height, you could call this code if the cookie doesn't exist and then use it to set the initial value.
Works in IE & Firefox, haven't tried other browsers.
<html> <body> <style> .WhiteOut {font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:1px; color:white} </style> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" height="100%"> <tr> <td align="right" valign="bottom" width="100%"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td><div id="x" class="WhiteOut">X</div></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>
<form name="PrepForm" method="POST"> <input type="hidden" name="Size" value=""> </form> <script> function findPos(obj) { var curleft = curtop = 0; if (obj.offsetParent) { do { curleft += obj.offsetLeft; curtop += obj.offsetTop; } while (obj = obj.offsetParent); return [curleft,curtop]; } } document.PrepForm.Size.value=findPos(x); document.PrepForm.submit(); </script> </body> </html> | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | @Dr. Killpatient Cool! I might try integrating that into my code. I do use cookies to store the user's selections and could certainly differentiate between first visit and subsequent. I admit that I never really put any effort into trying to determine a good default for the row and column count because I don't actually use my site on a desktop browser any more. I always run my site through my iPad or iPhone as a WebApp, and it's always perfectly aligned to their screen resolutions.
@RobAGD Hmm, I can see the problem. I'm not sure what the resolution is though (note again that I don't ever download the discs inside box sets and thus why I'd miss a scenario like this).
I can see that the first broken title in your 'Bach' tab is Back to the Future. WebGen seems to think that that title's UPC is 293553403 and made a 293553403.php page for it and expects there to be 293553403f.jpg and 293553403b.jpg images (which there are not).
If I try to look up that UPC in invelos, there is no such code. It seems that invelos considers that title's code to be I0CE2998BB874D850. I bet you have cover art named I0CE2998BB874D850f.jpg and I0CE2998BB874D850b.jpg for this title.
I'll have to look at the exported XML to see what data it's got. My assumption is that there is another property holding this code, but it's not the UPC property, and somehow my app needs to differentiate when the id for a title should be its UPC or this other code. | | | DVD Collection WebGen - use this tool to create your own online site like mine |
